Drogba scored for Chelsea after a couple of minutes. Looks like it will be an easy day for them.

    lol!

That is the most patronising introduction to a match I've ever heard - even for ITV that was cringeworthy.

edit: Maybe it will be a little more difficult for Chelsea than expected. Chopra has equalised for Cardiff.

Utaka and Dindane are too similar - pacey dribblers with no physical presence, they need to replace one with Piquionne or play him between the 2.

Either that or give the 2 of them some decent service on the floor.

Southampton have had the better of it but O'Hara has been MOTH.

    Chelsea won 4-1.

Quincy gives Portsmouth the lead with a decent finish, curled into the far corner.

Barnard scored from an offside position when he should have left it for his colleague who was clearly onside. A few minutes later, Portsmouth seal the win with a break from Belhadj.

O'Hara makes it four with an excellent counter-attack. Very harsh on Southampton, but Portsmouth have taken their chances well.

According to the ITV commentators Belhadj never looked confident Doh

It was in fact an incredibly composed finish as he brilliantly used the presence of Dindane to move Davis away from his near post - genius finish.

match day income and tv money should be way more than the prize money though, so hopefully it will help. Next round might be a great necessary bonus for them.

    Stoke Ale

Can anyone tell me why Ricardo Fuller never made it big time? He has to be the most underrated striker in Premiership IMHO, strong, pacy, good in the air, decent skills set, mades decent runs.

Had a lot of injury problems at one time. Then a bad spell at Portsmouth when he first came to PL, which probably gave him reputation as a Championship level striker

He is very good at what he does, esp. holding up the ball/strength

edit: should add he also has a bit of reputation as trouble-maker...see for example his on-pitch 'fight' with one of the Stoke defenders

Think the combination of injuries & attitude has kept him from top level.

Some of the crowds have been dreadful in the cup this weekend. The Reebok stadium is half empty, and Man City only had 28,000 turn up yesterday.

Bolton have started well, but Elmander has wasted some good chances.
