That's bollocks though. Last season he was misused for sure. But before that he was always SS or upfront. Often Ronaldo was on the right Giggs left and Rooney upfront. Injuries didn't help but he was never seen as a natural goalscorer just a great player who probably missed way to many chances. But now he could win the golden boot.

Rooney again. Valencia did well. The man is UNSTOPPABLE

a) True. But as a United fan we can take LRD's comment with a pinch of salt
b) Hmm, it helped Ronaldo win it last season. That's before you take into account Rooney has also performed well in the CL, just as Ronaldo did. It's rare a player scores twice at the San Siro, even if Milan aren't the force they were in the past.
c) Indeed. But what IS clear is that Rooney had to step up to the plate when Ronaldo left, and he has done that, despite the doubt.

He was England's only player who came out of that game with any credit.

As for the CL he's turned up when it matters. In the group stages he was in and out of the team but played well enough.

Rooney hasn't performed in the UCL like he does in EPL.

I am confused how does one become top 3 I need to know

a) EPL form
b) a few good months
c) over a two year period
d) playing well at a major international tournament

You do realise then just how many time Ronaldo has played where he's been anonymous up until scoring (usually after shooting on sight for 90 minutes/taking every free kick and penalty), none more so the season when he was deemed the best in the World by the media?

Rooney is FAR more effective than Ronaldo has ever been or ever will be when he's not scoring goals.

They look in far better shape than Bolton, Burnley, Hull, Wolves and possibly even Sunderland.

tonight's win, against all the odds, means Man Utd only need 8 more wins to guarantee a top 4 finish.

Ronaldo deserved to win(keyword win) his awards he carried his form from 06-07 to 07-08.

Rooney is more of a team player than Ronaldo but Ronaldo has that WOW factor and is a big game player.

UCL finals in 2008/2009 say it all.
