    CAPELLO SPEAKS Empty CAPELLO SPEAKS

Post by Puro Mon Sep 18, 2006 4:22 am

Journalist: Why did you leave Beckham out?

Capello: You can't play with 12 players.

    lol! lol! lol!

That's a very diplomatic way for Capello to not say "because he's shite, and he's only here at Real Madrid to sell T-shirts". Biggrin

Real Madrid played like shite against Real Sociedad once again. Any good team would crush Real Madrid just like Lyon destroyed them recently. Lots of work ahead for Capello, a lot of work. However, he's on the right track by benching Beckham. Biggrin <Ale>

The fact that Capello said Raul had a "great game" really worried me. If Raul gets congratulated for playing the way he did last night, then we're in big trouble. He will never get benched. He pulled his usual disappearing act in the first half and in the second half he was at best, half decent. It's good to see Raul is at least improving, but improving from being completely useless isn't really that much of an accomplishment.

Regarding Beckham, I want him in the bench as well but we didn't play that much better without him. Then again, Emerson and Raul were still in the field.

Capello is right, Raul did have a good game. He created chances, he had to good chances to score, 1 went wide the other was a great save by the keeper, we worked hard like always dropping back, i think it was one of Raul`s best games so far this season.

I was very happy for Becks. Real Sociedad went for broke, and Becks found himself alone with the goalie. You and I could've scored that goal LRD assuming you can still run. Biggrin <Ale>

Raul did not play well. Reyes was their only forward who tried to do something when he had the ball. Madrid were so static, no movement at all. There was a huge contrast watching them play just after watcing the barcelona match.

You cant compare RM to Barça, Barça have been playing together for years. RM is just starting, we have 4-5 new players in the starting line up and a new manager with new philosophies.

To quote your fellow Madridista Target Man:

In all honesty I can't wait to see how either of our teams will perform against decent opposition.. It has been a free ride so far for both of us.

Yeah.. and then at the end of the season Capello will return to Italy, citing the difficulties in controlling the team (meaning that the supporters want him out) and RM can start all over again with a new coach and spend €100 million and still start with an inefficient Raúl, an out of shape Ronaldo, an ageing Roberto Carlos and a confused Beckham..

Half a season winning 1-0 or 2-0 and not playing well doesnt mean we wont be on top.

and add that the crowd weren´t exactly happy with the 1st half its defo them that have cost the last few managers their job, they will not suffer as my madrid supporting friend put it "7 defensive players at home" every week, this continues and regardless of results he´ll be under pressure if the quality doesn´t improve significantly

3 games in to the season i dont think no one expects us to play fluid football, RM faithful are always hard to please but if we win something at the end of the season - who gives a rats ass?

We need a trophy and ill happly watch 1-0's and us win a trophy rather than play 1-1-8 like we have done in the past and not win jack.

Winning comes first, and then comes winning w/ style step by step.
