Shit Kick Off times

Whats with all the shit kick off times this season

last season it seemed to follow a regular pattern

1 match 8pm sat PPV
1 match 10pm freeview

6 matches 5pm ppv
1 match 7pm ppv
1 match 9pm c+

meaning the armchair fans could get to watch 4 matches.

now we seem to be having

1 match sat freeview
8 matches with overlapping ko times ppv
1 match c+ which is over lapped by at least some of the other matches

and 1 less match in total if seville are at home ffs sort this sh¡t out

Yo Frank! any news about Sevilla being on TV soon? We can't believe they're not on TV. We just missed the best game of the weekend in Europe (Sevilla 3-2 Betis) because of the contract situation.

Thanks for the update Frank! I can't believe Sevilla aren't getting any respect from TV. They're the UEFA Cup champs, and Super Cup champs by destroying Barcelona. Moreover, they appear to be the best team at the moment. I don't know about everyone else, but I want to watch Sevilla play soon!

i want to watch seville too, but as much as i hate madrid and barça they command much much bigger television audiences than the rest. all over spain their games will be shown unless they clash with the local side, whereas nobody will choose seville unless there is no other game on or they are playing the local side, madrid or barça. it´s why last season madrid a¡or barça rarely played at 5pm as their games would reduce the viewers on the other games to much lower levels and many bars would choose a 5pm game and still have barça and madrid ppv matches too. one good season by seville wont change the television dynamics immediately, the history of the other two will take years and years to erode before anybody can command as much as them

I agree with this thread. Best example? This weekend the Atletico-Sevilla and Barca-Valencia games overlap by an hour

according to the LFP wensite the atletico v sevilla game is the only one which doesn´t overlap with Barca kicking off at 7pm.

oleguer i thought that too, so i checked the lfp website to check before i said it and its not down as being on PPV whereas all the rest are.

Yeah they fixed Atletico-Sevilla and we can now watch that followed by Barca's game.

So far, I think Liverpool have played at 12:45 every Saturday, and Man U have played at 5pm. Does anyone know how or if this effects results?

I bet if there were some statistics you would find teams playing later in the day got better results.

Personally I don't think it affects the results too much in the UK.. In Spain, due to the weather it can be an advantage to play late in the day (and of course the players have a little siesta )

I would think that when you have a 12:45 kick off then the players get up early (like 6) in order to limber up and get a very early lunch.. It might affect them a bit in the sense that they get less sleep before the match.

Television makes the clubs play at the wierdest hours possible as long as it suits them, and since the clubs need the money...

Porto will play this Friday at 19.15.
Wonderfull, people still leaving work and they kickoff at that time.
Result: bad attendances / tv prime time game

I am sure it is even worse in Spain and England

It is all about the money and not the fans nowadays

Screw Grand Slam Sunday, this Sunday in La Liga is where it's at - Atletico-Sevilla and then Barca-Valencia, with Zaragoza-Villarreal if you have a 2nd TV (or stream )

I haven't read or heard anything about the Sevilla TV issue being resolved. Maybe it is programmed but for now I remain sceptical about its transmission.

Yeah but this is at Atletico, so Sevilla can't control it. It's only Sevilla's home games that are under dispute.

I am sure it is not correct. Sevilla have denied permission for the televising of ALL their games, including away games.

I have heard bar owners in Sevilla lamenting this situation, since they are sure to lose a lot of business this way.
