All of the decent players will be totally drained after this one and also won't give a fuck up against Chelsea players who will be fighting for a title. Throw in the bi-annual raping session Drogba subjects Carragher to and we haven't got a prayer. And just to top things off, Mikel is injured for the season.

It was in extra time Kas and we also scored one which was ruled out. Seems a cruel way to decide a tie that has already run for 180 mins.

It does seem cruel but as we saw in lrd's thread, there aren't many better alternatives.

Even more harsh as we had a perfectly good one ruled out in the first leg but it sums up the season. No luck at all.

Atletico played pretty well tonight. Far better than the first leg.

he Carling Cup rule is far worse IMO when away goals don't count until 120 minutes. The current setup is fine, it's not nice but neither are penalties.

The away goals rule should be scrapped after full-time. It does seem unfair that one team can only pursue away goals for 90 minutes, while their opponents can have 120. In situations like this it would be better to simply go to penalties.

    lol!

Says the man who has claimed Diaby to be the next footballing genius

The man who claims Bendtner to be a prolific goalscorer

The man who can't bring himself to appreciate Inter spanking Barca at home while the team he fingers himself over pulled their pants down and humiliated themselves to the watching world against the very same team

    Etc Etc Etc......................

    Seriously the list is neverending

I am fully aware Liverpool haven't good enough this season Prof. You have been able to read the weekly updates on how shit we have been. Luck can also play a part aside from this and we have been bereft of it all season with another example being this semi in which we scored a perfectly good away goal but it was ruled out and it proved crucial.

but by the same token one team has 90 minutes at home in front of their own fans while the other can have 120 minutes, so it's down to the luck of the draw in a way. It sucks but there is no decent alternatives.

    The Return of the Jedi!

Congrats Fulham, well deserved win! Ale

Watched the second half at a mate's house, a HSV fan who had gotten very cocky during the break and called me. Knowing HSV, I had a sneaky feeling that this cockyness would ruin it for them in the end, as always...

He was a gracious loser though.

    P.S.: No coefficient porn tonight...

Oh but he is. This season he has seemed like he couldn't care at times though. Not surprising that he has been linked with other clubs throughout this season as well and he has had no problems making "get me" pleas. He is a very good player but with all that said he is rather inconsistent and it is hard to know how much is done to the environment around Atletico or just how he is. Torres was worse for Atletico and as soon as he left he became a top striker.

Don't know if Chelsea is the right club though unless they start to purchase some more creative players. Milan might be a better choice or if it has to be England then Arsenal.

And congrats to Fulham and Atletico. I don't know who to root for in the final but I think Fulham have impressed again and again while Atletico has about a crappy record one can get from a finalist. Hopefully they will win the Copa in Spain and Fulham can take this but sadly I will it will be the opposite. Even being the final is incredible but hopefully Hodgson has one more in him. All he needs to do is defend the flanks because Atletico has nothing in the middle really and Atleti's defence is woeful so Zamora should be able to do some damage.
