It would be if I hadn't given numerous examples.

Black Champagne is talking sense for a change. It can be no coincidence that Gomes looks better and better the longer he builds up a relationship with his defence. We're seeing now why the Dutchies hyped him so much. By contrast the longer the likes of Dunne, Toure, Lescott spent in front of Given the more they look like donkeys, which their CV shows they clearly aren't.

Dunne was a donkey in his latter Villa days. Lescott was a donkey often at Everton..and was moved to left back wasnt he? Toure was poor when he left Arsenal as well.
We've seen enough evidence of Gomes to know he's a flapper He flaps all day, and flaps all night. He flaps like a gay, and flaps in shite.
To hypocrisy
I see your lot have already brought out a DVD of the game btw.

Everton were one of the best Defensive units in the league over the 3 seasons that Lescott was there. Was excellent at CB or LB IMO... not his fault that Citeh overpaid.
Dunne - Citeh fans player of the year for 3-4 seasons on the trot. Given shows up and he looks like the calamity he was in his early days, when he was a drunk who didn't care at all about his career. Villa? Take away the games at the Emirates & Stamford Bridge, and he's been very good.
Toure - never been a natural leader to start with. Then again his dramatic dip in form did coincide with Judas & Lehmann leaving. A defender who isn't a great communicator + a GK who doesn't command = not pretty.

:laugh:Masterful poetry.
Gomes is still a little suspect in the air, there is no denying it. Nothing like he was when he first joined.
He will now punch the ball with conviction if undecided - unlike Almunia.
He is not a perfect keeper by any means, but possibly the best shot stopper in the league now. Reactions are lightning.

Still, he handled the Stoke Delap test with relative ease, unlike Gibbon...

Sorry, but you can do better, I think. Lescott was playing well on both positions, and was moved to LB, because Baines was struggling/injured, and he was doing better as left back, than Yobo/Jagielka as RB, or Jagielka as DMborocooper wrote:

It might be somewhere near the "Premier League discussion 17/18/19/21 April 2010" thread.
