I wonder when commentators are going to stop saying 'Berbatov has the technique to do that' when he consistently fails to do that.

Probably never. He has the ability to do almost anything with a ball, but he only hits top form for about 27 seconds per season.

The sub bench for Utd looks rather bereft of attacking options. Only Macheda and he's not really going to strike fear into Spurs.

Compare Spurs who have Lennon, Crouch and Gudjohnsen. Quite a stark difference.

Solid stuff in terms of team shape. Their best (half) chances have all come when we've made simple errors.

Palacios needs to up his game a bit.

Apart from Bentley messing up your counters by being far too slow you are doing well.

Keep it solid and let Crouchinho on to sneak one at the end.

Defoe and Pav isn't working today. Not really the place to play that partnership, especially with Palacios and Huddlestone so far behind them.

    .

    ok

    He's been shite.

Still, you should win this. Man Utd have nothing much going forward and you've got options on the bench to bring on and win it. Pav's been invisible, so I expect Crouch soon. Then throw on Lennon for Bentley with 20 mins to go, if its still 0-0.

Credit to Redknapp for persuading Defoe to work so hard - he's trying to keep Scholes out of the ball and not allowing MU to exploit their 3 vs 2 advantage in central midfield. He also made one cracking run defensively to stop Rafael, when Bale and Modric went AWOL.
