    hindering brazil? Empty hindering brazil?

    Post by mongrel hawk Mon May 17, 2010 8:17 pm

    I'm not a conspirationist, and I do not believe in it, but many people here are sayin they (who are they?) will do anything to hinder Brazil in this WC. They (again, who are they?) are sure Brazil will win at home, and another title in Africa would mean 7 for Brazil in 5 years time, Italy coming second with only 4.

    Brands involved in the world cup, brands that have been investing and plan to invest a lot of money in football, they say, do not want such a domination. It would be boring, predictable, bad for business.

    1st step: put Brazil in a difficult group.

    2nd step: Brazil may face Spain as soon as possible.

    3rd step: refereeing?

    what do you think?

    Brazil (together with Germany) has been getting help from FIFA/Nike for ages now, can't see that stopping all of a sudden.

    Unless Dunga really manages to kill the Joga Bonita brand, so the world wide support for Brazil will falter.

    .....hmm, you might be on to something ok

    (my personal feeling is that since it's a new continent, FIFA is trying something new : they're not going to interfere at all this time)

    Conspiracy theories are for losers. Brazil are winners, it doesn't suit you.

    Besides, other teams have tough groups, too.

    The obvious conspiracy theory is that the referees will help out South Africa. In every previous World Cup, the host nation has always got past the first round, and SA are too shit to do it by themselves.

    If they wanted to help South Africa they would have put them in a different group.

    The fact that the groups were not staged is a clear indication that FIFA isn't playing favorites for once IMO.

    ok

    I think there is no obv reason to "support" or "destroy" any given team in this competition. Just let it flow and it will be a good world cup. A great one is rare anyway.

    @blut

    I said I do not believe in it.

    @barrilete

    you don't win a WC with a team full of craques (smoking craque, maybe). you win with 2 or 3 craques and 8 good, obedient players, plus a bit of luck and a lot of winning mentality.

    craque means a very, very talented and skilled footballer and the drug crack cocaine.

    on the top bottom of this billboard, there's something written. I can read "futebol arte", but not what comes before. it's probably "amantes do futebol arte" (lovers of football-art), probably the guys who paid for this crap.

    FIFA made it pretty clear they want an African team to win it, I'm sure one will make it to the semi's. Doubt they are gonna hinder Brazil though, usually it's the opposite actually.

    Ok I got it right then. Funny stuff though. One I thing wonder is if 94 was such a change for Brazil why aren't there more like you who prefer grit?
    Is it a case of coachings changing their mind after 94 while the Brazilian audience are still stuck in the old days or is it simply a case of the media pretending as if Brazilians are bunch of happy joga bonito monkeys?
