Japan out of form and out of sorts, losing 0 - 2 to Korea in the last warm up match before leaving for their pre-tournament training base in Switzerland. Honda and (Shunsuke)Nakamura can't play together and don't even get on off the pitch; Nakamura also injured and out of action until the tournament actually starts. Talk about cannon fodder Doh

They won't get a point and they may not get a goal.

Its not stereotyping - they have severe physical limitations and they tend to play narrow.

3 bad teams for them, Holland will have some pace, Denmark too on the flanks and Cameroon will have loads of pace and muscle.

    The Japs are fucked.

I like Tulio though - well classy on the ball for a CB.

Nice goals from RVP. Some good ball movements in the Holland team, as usual. Interesting group, Holland should top it if they play well, followed by Denmark/Cameroon.

Super Madrid, what other players to watch than Poulsen, Romedahl, Tomasson, Bentner, Agger, and Kalhenberg in this team?

Kalhenberg used to be great for Auxerre but I think he struggled a bit at Wolfsburg. How Eriksen?

Some of the players are huge (Sorensen, Kjaer, Kroldrup, Larsen). Do Denmark still play a physical game as they used to?

As for Cameroon, they Paul Le Guen who struggled as a club coach and it's his first national team if my memory's good.
Some good and experienced players in each lines there: Kameni, Assou-Ekotto, Bassong, Chedjou, Emana, Song, Mbia, Makoun, Eto'o.

Bassong and Assou-Ekotto are actually French but opted for the Cameroon nationality. Now how will P.L.G manage this team? Can they play well together?

Mbia had a good season for Marseille, he can play in CM or even as a defender, Bayern and Inter are after him apparently, but Marseille won't let him go.

Le Guen needs to stop forcing the 4-3-3 system on the team, has they clearly don't have the players for it and go with something else and they could go well.

I haven't followed Danish football that much in the last season or so and the national team has more players from the Danish league then in previous tournaments. I haven't even seen Eriksen but I have only heard good things.

If I had to mention one it would be Simon Poulsen who is really a winger but who has been converted to left back in Holland. A lot of coaches tend to have a player who only the coach rates and in this case it is Rommedalh who is beyond aweful and the only thing of note he has ever done was score against France in the 2002 WC.

    Physical football?
Since Morten Olsen came in 2000 we have mostly tried to play a Dutch 4-3-3 and initally it brought some good results and good football but since 2005 we have struggled since the players weren't up to the task and it took two missed international cups(06WC+08EC) for Olsen to realise that you have to be pragmatic. So we are less entertaining then we used to be but you can still see the patterns of a passing team in the form of triangles and such. The central defence is good and Poulsen in midfield will provide some steele with Kalhenberg giving us some creativity. Bendter has been quite good for us and I think they can get out of the group stage and im optimistic about getting a draw or a win vs Holland.

Read on Arsenal Mania, somebody involved in the post match analysis said he is (out of it).

Pity would have liked to see why some people want him at the Arsenal.

Read this somewhere that there's been a clash between ex star Roger Milla and Eto'o. Milla said that Eto's is not making enough efforts when he plays for the national team. Eto's was a apparently very pissed with him and said that he might consider playing in the world cup. What a twat.

Eto'o is bizarre. He has no problem playing right wing back all season for Inter for the good of the team, but one bit of criticism from Milla and he threatens to quit internationals for Cameroon. scratch

Im puzzled by this one. I mean Milla doesn't have any function within the national team so why should he care. Does he think nobody is entitled to criticize him or what. Very disapointing stuff by Eto and not the best preparation for the World Cup.

Etoo's always been like that though - on the pitch he's the most committed, 100% professional you can find...he'll sweat blood for the shirt and for his teammates.

Off it, he's a bit of a nutter and you never know what he's going to do or say.

Cheva is a completely different situation to Tchoyi.

Uruguay's manager told Chevanton that if he could prove his fitness he would be considered (why he moved in Jan).

    He couldn't and he wasn't.

Tchoyi is just a case of a very boring manager favouring solid players over flair/skill/creativity - happens all the time.
