OFFICIAL: David Silva to Manchester City

Pending a medical examination, David Silva is a Manchester City player. Marca are reporting the fee to be 30-35m euro.

El Valencia CF y el Manchester City FC han llegado a un acuerdo para el traspaso del jugador David Jiménez Silva, a falta de la revisión médica pertinente. Al futbolista, actualmente en Sudáfrica con la Selección española, le gustaría hacer llegar a la afición del Valencia que se trata de un momento emotivo para él: “Es una situación muy especial, porque dejo atrás al club de mi vida, donde he crecido como persona y como jugador, pero también me uno a un gran proyecto de la Premier League como es el Manchester City. No tengo más que palabras de agradecimiento para el Valencia CF, mis compañeros, entrenadores y la afición que tanto me ha dado y de la que espero poderme despedir próximamente. Amunt València!”

El Valencia CF le desea al futbolista la mayor de las suertes en su nueva etapa profesional y quiere destacar el gran comportamiento que Silva ha mantenido en sus años de trayectoria en nuestro club.

Reckon he'll do quite well.

Pretty suprised that Silva has decided to join City. He's a bit injury prone and not the strongest, so it will be interesting if he will be able to adapt or just another Robinho.

I find him not direct enough to be the sort of winger to really do the business consistently over here.

I would have thought Silva would slot in just behind Adebayor. More likely the end of Ireland.

Agree. Was thinking if Silva can play too in 4-3-3 as the most advanced central midfielder, bur probably would need a more possession based team for this to have a chance to work.
4-2-3-1 and him behind Adebayor/whoever will play CF sounds definitely as the best option.
Too bad that neither combination of 2 players from Toure/Barry/De Jong isn't very convincing.

Decent signing. He's not better than Lennon BTW. But anyway i might have a few quid on City winning the title...surely their only downfall will be players being unhappy or not having a consistent team or even Mancini. Player wise they're superior to everyone now with that squad.

Well Glenn said something about the squad limit is only for the prem not cup matches or europe so they might not even care. They are not but i just remember people laughing because i thought Lennon is a better player and i am still certain he is.

This coming season. 25 over 21s and an unlimited number of u21s.

We've only got 19 players over 21 so i can't say i give a shit.

Quite high IMO.

Im very happy we have got him i thin he will do very well. I expect him to slot in behind the strikers, AJ wont be forced out....if anyone is it will be Ireland.

One or two needed but we might sign a few more depending on who leaves, 3 in (Boateng, Silva and being presumtious Yaya) 3 out (Petrov, Benjani and Syl ) at the mo but i think there a few like Ireland, SWP and Onuoha who might decide to move on for first team football as they wont be garanteed a place in the starting 11. Plus the likes of Ceicedo, Jo and Boj will move on im sure....Robinho...who knows but i think he will leave. Silva wont hamper AJ's ( and Weiss) progression but Robbie might so not that bothered if he goes now. I think we might look at a full back and maybe a striker to give Ade competition. It depends on if he wants to keep RSC and Bellers. The full back position depends on if he rates Bridge, Richards or Onuoha...or might give Lescott or Toure a shout at full back or decideds to buy.

So overall the majority of the first team is sorted but its quite up in the air in terms of how many we buy depends on how many stay.
