    Very Happy

We can all put a brave face on it but there's no disguising just what a huge blow it was to be without Lampard and terry for these 2 vital games.

Nice of SWP to show off his entry for the worst pass in the history of world football competition.

Possible pen for Switzerland re Ashley Cole ? Suprised by the lack of appeal.

Great goal from Shakira - who does he play for ?

    JINKY cheers

    FC Basel I think

Ah. The only thing I know about Jumper's Knee is that I've seen it mentioned alongside the name Owen Hargreaves pale

12m was a helluva bit of business. He's 29, pace is a big part of his game and now his knees have gone...can't really see him ever getting back to what he was. Fulham are just damn lucky Zamora turned into a decent player & a relative bargain to balance it out!

    How? Career ended by injury?

Holtby is an Everton fan, clearly German though, wonder if his English is completely fluent. Was surprised that Hunt wasn't confident enough to give an interview in English.

Was going to say "the englands" can fuck right off, but having read about his antics in 2001, I'm not so sure...

Here's what Holtby says: 'I have both countries in my heart. I supported England as a child, but I'm not a traitor. I must have honour and respect for Germany. I love the country of England, but Germany have given me the honour of the captaincy at Under 21 level and I have to give them back that respect.

'It is the bizarre thing. It's funny. I always supported England but now I play for Germany. 'I must admit when England won 5-1 in Munich (when he was 11) I was really English, I had my shirt on, everything. GOOD LAD!

'This year I watched the World Cup match between England and Germany with my dad. He was biting his fingernails and I sat there calm, relaxed, hoping really for a good game that ended in a draw with the best team winning through. Afterwards my dad was sad, and when the Lampard "goal" wasn't given, he was choked.

'For me personally, to one day play for Germany and then the next for England would be difficult. To settle in a team full of English guys having come from the German team ... well, it is not like switching clubs.

'I have to pay respect to Germany, for what they have done for me, how they have helped develop me. It is a decision I have probably made. But it would be an honour to do both.'

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Sounds pretty English to me. Good to see the Germans keeping up that fine tradition of poaching other nationalities at a young age Ale Laughing

C'mon Allez, Lewis was 10 years old back then. I think we can excuse his behaviour as kindliche Verblendung. He also mentioned in an interview that he's proud to represent Germany and proud to sing the German anthem so there really shouldn't be any doubts about his allegiance to the German NT.

Bernd, Lewis was born in Germany. If anyone is poaching here, then it's England.

He was only born in Germany because his father was there checking up on you lot, as it's well recognised hisorically that you cannot be trusted.

If you'd behaved a bit better back int' day, he'd have been born in good old blighty. And probably gone onto become a rugged centre half more famous for falling out of nightclubs / having sex with prostitutes. Which is how we like them thank you Ale

    he will play for germany

me thinks its a mistake, he mabye good, but i am not sure if he is good enough for germany, we have plenty of talent in his position

in england he would be guaranteed starter, he has everything england lack, creativity and vision

Nah, right now we need the most:

A solid DM with decent passing, a new Hargreaves basically, new centre backs, a target man that can play at international level, and a better right back would be nice.

    AM is actually ok.

england may have AM, but none really that has vision and passing that brings your team into another level like özil is doing it for germany

i am not saying holtby could have done that , but who knows, he has become 20 years old this year, many time to proof himself Smile

but i agree, the england team is full of construction zones

England should be looking at how Iniesta is doing it for Spain - they're the ones who are actually the most successful side in International football. Not Germany

None of our attacking AMs are as good as Ozil no, but Gerrard is still, often, a very good player. Wilshere looks to be very gifted - time will tell, as does McEachran. So its not a problem area as such.

    Whereas:

Targetman: No one, apart from Andy Carrol who may end up being average or rubbish. Apart from that absolutely no one.

DM: Gareth Barry - getting older and varies between neat and completely useless. After that - theres Parker - average and also old, Cattermole - thug and Huddlestone - Milkfloat and not really what I think we need in my hypothetical all England team.

RB: Johnson. And that is actually it. Micah Richards, but he has the disadvantage of being shit.

AM looks pretty healthy now really.
