I think they should be made completely optional. Players play too many games anyway, these games are often meaningless and should be an opportunity for the manager to try new things, fringe players etc. Easier if the established players withdraw themselves.

Yes he was. But haters are gonna hate, so let em cheers

Man Utd are playing City lunchtime Saturday so I'm sure there'll be some other tactical dropouts. Ferdinand's already out and it would hardly stun me if his hamstring problem miraculously clears up on Saturday morning.

Capello's already said he wants to try Bent alongside Rooney up front, so I'm guessing he will play something like:

    Hart
    Johnson-Jagielka-Terry-Cole
    Walcott-Barry-Lampard-Milner/Young/Downing
    Bent-Rooney
He wasn't even called up for this game.

Ah my bad. Just assumed he was. Dawson then, maybe.

Crouch and Foster drop out injured. Agbonlahor for personal reasons (another baby possibly Erm ).

Robert Green and Carlton Cole have the honour of taking their unused-substitute spots.

I am guessing some of the midfielders would have to, as there are better keepers and strikers than Joey Barton out there.

In any case thsoe taking the spots now are pretty much guaranteed not to play. They need to have 22+ so that they can have 11-a-side practice matches.

    Hart
    Johnson-Dawson-Terry-Cole
    Walcott-Wilshere-Lampard-Milner
    Bent-Rooney

dunno what Milner's doing there. And that CM does not exactly inspire confidence.

I predict this line up to produce poor quality football and a 1-1 draw or possibly a 1-0 win if Bentdner decides he doesn't feel like scoring.

Are English people gonna watch this is one of the more enticing ties?

It kicks off at 7.15 for some reason, so might check the first half as the more interesting games ain't till 7.45/8.

Glen Johnson, despite playing in The Best Defence in the World, shows yet again how shit he is.

    Then Rooney wastes great chance.

Think I'll do the same as well. I really must be bored to watch this shambles though.

Sloppy start from England, followed by the most exaggerated step overs imaginable from Bendtner. England get a chance from a Danish mistake, but Rooney's effort was poor considering there was only a defender to beat on the line.

Denmark's game-plan revolves around getting the ball to Johnson and waiting for him to set them up in dangerous areas. That, and set-pieces. Rolling Eyes

Not altogether awful. If you replaced Lampard with A Proper DM (god knows who - have to be Barry till we find someone) and Johnson with an actual defender it might look alright - still a bit open in the middle and prone to mistakes in the Glen.

Rooney playing a fairly free role behind Bent and Milner/Walcott swapping wings has been fairly effective and there was the odd good combination which nearly opened them up. Think you could put Gerrard in Milner's spot and that might be the best way to use him for England - close to Rooney but away from CM.

    i.e
    Hart
    RB-Ferdinand-Terry-Cole
    Wilshere-DM
    Walcott-Rooney-Gerrard
    Bent/Carroll

Eriksen looks v.good for Danes ok

Wilshire vs Carrick, when Carrick receives the ball from defence he passes it back to Terry. If Terry passes it back to him he simply passes it back to Terry and so on until Terry eventually lumps it forwards. Wilshire seems much more incline to play positive and isn't afriad to turn and carry the ball or spread the play.

I'd much rather see Wilshire alongside Parker or perhaps that meaty Everton kid, than Lampard. Hopefully we'll see Parker/Wilshire in the 2nd half.

Forgot Parker was in squad. Maybe he can stake claim here as the destroyer type.
