I thought Bent could have been a little quicker there.

Surely some of the Wales players will see the fun to be had in winding Rooney up for the rest of this game, now that he's on a yellow card.

I don't know why Lampard is playing CM with Wilshire playing as AM. Its like Capello deliberately wants to handicap the team even when he picks a decent starting XI. What a dickhead.

When Rooney is passing like this, you really do want him to be playing the AM/SS role rather than played out wide.

Bent is shit. Soooo shit its it hurts. He'll get 7/10 for scoring though.

    Dawson has been unconvincing.

Otherwise an unusually decent showing by England. Parker ok for just doing his job.

I think with Wilshere-Lampard, Parker's been told to sit and Wilshere and Lampard are both allowed to break when they want, decide between themselves. Wilshere wants to get involved and has been pushing forward, and Lampard (unlike Gerrard) is fairly happy to sit back when necessary. Midfield's been working pretty well anyway, so bit harsh to pick on that aspect.

Rooney should prob be subbed as he could yet get an unnecessary red. Stick Downing on..

Good win. Dull 2nd, but the game was won by the 2nd goal.

Team looks more balanced in general now. Wonder what Capello will do next time he has both Lampard and Gerrard fit though Erm Young, Wilshere, Parker have all earned their places with performances so it'd be disappointing if one of them was dropped to fit back Gerrard & Lampard, as well as unbalancing for the team.

    Hart N/A

    Johnson 7
    Terry N/A
    Dawson N/A
    Cole 7

    Parker 7.5
    Wilshere 7.5
    Lampard 6

    Young 7.5
    Rooney 6
    Bent 6

Great to get a win but Wales were dismal.

I can't rate the 3 central players in defence because, through no fault of their own, they played no part in the game apart from a few seconds of good play from Terry in the build up to the 1st.

Typical Young - not a sexy winger like Barnes or Waddle but he is Mr End Product.

I Don't like Gerrard or Lampard for England but if we were playing decent opposition I'd prefer Gerrard.

I love Wilshere's ability to beat a player with a drop of the shoulder or a swivel of the hips - the 2 goal scorers will get 7's from the press but they're not good enough.

Someone else could have scored the pen (most are converted) and, whilst another striker may not have been in the position that Bent was when he scored, they may have contributed to the game, allowing teh team to score more.

Not just saying this 'cos he looked alright when he came on but I'm sure most of us would have chosen Vaughan to start were we Welsh - strange decision.

He should have started in the middle with Ledley in King's position.

    Captain marvel:

"Dawson has made the position his own"

I'm sure the rest of the CB's in the squad will be delighted to hear that.

Its nice to know that our standard's have fallen so low that looking competent whilst up against a striker who has made about 100 apps in professional football at the age 27, and can literally trap a ball further than most of us can kick it, means you're in.

Does this not beg the question why this (the formation) wasn't tried earlier. Makes Capello look a bit stupid. I think our World Cup would've failed regardless, but we'd have been slightly less exposed on the break.

Think its the same old story we have had for years at least since Scholes decided not to play for England. Capello did not have Wilshire he makes the middle far more effective Scott Parker can now play at the back of the midfield Young and Rooney are given more room only having to cover the wide areas defending. It was a positive game for England a weaker opponent but the pressure was still there to win and they controlled much of the game in the right areas. I like Young lets hope he sees the forwards run quicker otherwise Bent will become wasted as he makes runs all the time.

That's nice for Terry(lionheart, leader of men, rightfully returned to his throne etc etc), to be able to pick and choose which games are important enough for him to be captain.

Be a good friendly to see I wonder who will be the Captain for the day I would like to see Parker and then keep Wilshere with him also.

Let me see what to pick to play against Ghana.

    ------------------Hart--------------------

    --Johnson------Cahill-----Lescott-----Baines--

    ----------------Parker--------------------

    ---------Milner-----------Wilshere---------

    -- Lennon---------Bent------------Young---

This Walker guy what position does he play I have not seen him.

Hope Barry does not play Please...........

Three capable hard workers in the middle, Two quick wingers that like to take on defenders and put the ball in and one fast attacker that given the service will score.

The CB's have only seen a few of their games this year there could be a better pairing.

Barry will most likely start and be captain. Most senior player there, now.

Kyle Walker is a RB very much in the G.Johnson mould. May well be given a debut.

    Capello's said he's making 11 changes.

Which means we're probably back to 442 and looking at something like:

    Green
    Jagielka-Cahill-Lescott-Baines
    Lennon-Milner-Barry-Downing
    Crouch/Carroll-Defoe

Maybe Jarvis on one of the wings.

K.Walker's got an injury and won't get to make his debut.
