Now though both teams look more like winners. So after this WC perhaps everything will change.

How do you like your chances against España? If you play like you've played so far in this WC, then no chance. If you play your "total football" against España, no chance. Too much hype from the media here and mostly annoying friends who talked as if Spain would destroy everybody in sight with their "beautiful" football. Otherwise I used to like Spain a lot as a team. It might change after the WC allthough I still find them a bit boring to watch.

I intentionally picked a high number so it seemed worse ok.
To be fair to Holland they only really took football serious around the 60's or so in this respect they progressed remarkably fast to get to two finals in a row only some 10-15 years later. However it doesn't change that Holland has consistently produced good enough players to be able to compete but don't have enough to show for it. Spain is much worse though and it is truly unbelievable that they hadn't even reached a semi in all these years.

Hopefully Holland will take it though and they won't be able to complain allthough the biggest losers is Germany for not beating Spain and setting up a great final. It would have been a much better narrative.

Paul also made predictions for the 2008 EC. Got every match right bar the final. How about that?
