Re: loic remy,is he the answer.
I think he is a good player. After, will be successful over there, that's a question mark! All the biggest French clubs (Bordeaux, Marseille and Lyon) were after him this year because he is one of the few good young forwards still playing in France.

I don't think he will go to West Ham. Yesterday they offered 18m euros but it seems Remy has made his decision to join Liverpool.

We apparently had a bid for him turned down on the last day of the January transfer window. Maybe if we didn't already have Chamakh in our minds we would be competing with Liverpool for him this summer.
Are Marseille still going to buy Gignac?

Why do Liverpool want Remy anyway, they already have torres, jovanovic, babel, and kuyt. That's enough!

Serious ?
Babel can't be relied upon for anything and Kuyt is Kuyt. He is no striker. Word on the street is Riera is gone to Olympiakos and Ngog will be sent on loan to West Brom and we have already lost Yossi. With Torres being a perma crock we need someone better than Babel or Kuyt to step in for him and if he can cover the wide positions as well then great.
Hodgson has said he knows sweet FA about Remy so I'm not sure if we will sign him unless the scouts are adamant he is a good player.

Nice chief insists Liverpool must match West Ham's £12.5m bid to land in demand star Loic Remy
Nice president Gilbert Stellardo says Liverpool will only jump to the head of the queue for Loic Remy if they match West Ham's £12.5million offer for the 23-year-old.
Despite West Ham's offer, Nice want £7.5m paid up front and Remy would prefer Liverpool.
Stellardo said: 'If Liverpool make an offer things will be done swiftly. The amount (offered by West Ham) suits me but not the payment method.'
However, Liverpool are struggling to offload players to finance a deal and manager Roy Hodgson says he has yet to make judgement on Remy.

Re: loic remy,is he the answer.
I think that Liverpool's signing of Joe Cole puts to an end any chance of a deal from them for Remy. According to reports Nice have received no bids so far, so it seems like he could be remaining there unless West Ham come in with a real offer.

We've offered, and they've accepted the amount, but we want to pay in installments but they want the majority of the funds now. Also, saw this today.UK_Andy wrote:I think that Liverpool's signing of Joe Cole puts to an end any chance of a deal from them for Remy. Liverpool leave Loic in limbo as Roy Hodgson refuses to meet Nice striker Remy's £12.5m asking price
Loic Remy's hopes of joining Liverpool are in limbo as the Reds refuse to match West Ham's £12.5million bid for the France striker.
The Hammers own bid has been knocked back unless they stump up £7.5m up front rather than splitting payments over four years.
The 23-year-old would prefer to be part of Roy Hodgson's new-look Liverpool side, but respected French newspaper L'Equipe reports that an expected meeting between the Merseysiders and Nice has failed to materialise amid the Reds' reluctance to offer much more than £10m.
Nice have already been rebuffed interest at that level from Lyon and Remy has joined up with his current club's training camp at Megeve.
Fantasy Football
Arsenal have also tracked Remy and are considering whether to recruit another forward to replace Shakhtar Donetsk-bound Eduardo.
Remy's agent Frederic Guerra told skysports.com: 'A major club from the Premier League have contacted me about Loic. I have a meeting with the club tomorrow (Wednesday) and we will see what happens.
'Whatever happens Loic will be leaving Nice this summer and he has his heart set on England.'

Yeah. Very little known, he's not exactly a household name is he? If he comes I'll back him but players from France are usually very hit and miss when they go to other leagues and seeing as we're strapped of cash I'd rather spend it on a proven talent. Personally I'd rather spend around 15 mil on someone like Carlton Cole.

West Ham raise bid for Nice star Loic Remy to £13m
West Ham have made an improved £13million bid for Nice striker Loic Remy – to head off competition from Premier League rivals.
Co-owner David Sullivan is believed to have offered the majority of the fee up front too to appease Nice’s demands.
Liverpool, Tottenham and Lyon had all expressed an interest while Arsenal are
expected to make fresh enquiries on Wednesday once Eduardo’s £6m transfer to Shakhtar Donetsk is finalised.
If Arsenal step in, the 23-year-old would prefer to go there but West Ham’s offer is the
best so far and Nice are keen to accept.
Remy’s agent, Frederic Guerra, said: ‘Loic has his heart set on England.’

Re: loic remy,is he the answer.
Unknown because you don't follow the Ligue 1. Remy has drawn interest from several big clubs before Liverpool: Arsenal, Fiorentina, Milan Ac, Tottenham and all the big clubs in France (Marseille, Bordeaux and even Lyon). The French league is really defensive, probably the most defensive one an defenders are actually quite good (look at Lyon and Bordeaux in the C.L), so scoring 14 goals at the age of 23 is pretty good.
If I were him I wouldn't go to Liverpool. No French player has ever done anything good over there, maybe because of the style of play, the management or probably because they were simply no good enough to play for Liverpool. The same applies for Barcelona or Milan, where 95% of the French players tend to fail. How much would Agbonlahor cost? See it this way both Agbonlahor and Remy represent the future... Having said that I hope Wenger gets him to replace Eduardo. That would be great.

In terms of numbers Chamakh has replaced Eduardo, I just can't see us bringing another striker in that would be ready for the first team. If we do and we don't bring in or go bargain basement on the GK & CB I am going to be really annoyed.Alive and Kicking wrote:Having said that I hope Wenger gets him to replace Eduardo. Re: loic remy,is he the answer.
West Ham boss Avram Grant is poised to beat Liverpool to the signing of Nice striker Loic Remy.
New Anfield chief Roy Hodgson wants the 23-year-old France frontman to bolster his ranks in the wake of the capture of Joe Cole and skipper Steven Gerrard's commitment to the Merseysiders.
10 things you need to know about Loic Remy plus video of his goals
But despite Liverpool's interest, West Ham appear in the box seat to sign the player after Nice sporting director Patrick Governatori said the Ligue 1 club is prepared to accept an improved £11.3million bid from the Upton Park outfit.
Governatori said: "On Tuesday we received a new proposal from West Ham, for a full payment in cash.
"If Liverpool want to sign Loic, we need clear rules and commitments from them. But West Ham are hot for the player and we want to complete the transfer before the end of the month."
Remy is now expected to join the Hammers after a farewell appearance for Nice in this evening's friendly with Grenoble.
