Post by fcb Mon Aug 30, 2010 7:59 am

Thought it would be a good idea to have a single thread to track all the transfers (both confirmed and rumoured) across Europe today and tomorrow.

    - To start off, it looks like there is real interest from Bayern in Van der Vaart as a Robben replacement. The rumoured fee is around 12m euros.

    - There is also the unresolved issue of Robinho...with both Milan and Barça possibly interested.

    - And Schalke were supposedly closed to signing Huntelaar, but the Jurado rumour is still going strong.

Which countries windows close today? I was under the impression that they all closed today with the British one being the exception.

AFAIK all transfer windows close tomorrow. Spain certainly does. Not sure though whether it's at midnight, or 6pm like the British one.

Well yeah, so far it's just them, and they're obviously trying to force out some players so that Madrid can meet the requirement to register a 25 man senior squad. The 3 main names are:

    1. Van der Vaart - Seems reluctant to leave...Mourinho is also 50-50 on selling him. But crucially, he's the only one that Madrid can get some money for, in a summer where they've spent 100m euros again (incl. sacking and hiring managers and their coaching staff) but earned nothing.

    2. Drenthe - Linked to various loan moves, but nothing finalised so far. Will probably go by tomorrow.

    3. M. Diarra - Only a year on his contract, and the transfer fee would probably only be 5m euros. Some remote interest from English clubs, but his huge salary (and I think he's injured right now as well) is a problem.

Buyout clause is 30m euros. Madrid and Barça looked at him but were warned off by Athletic (and the price tag). I'd be surprised if you get him this late in the window, and if you somehow manage it, the price will probably not be less than something in the 20s.

Zero chance of that one happening then

I wonder is it too late to bid for Benjani Very Happy

I'll be quite happy with our transfer window if we do get another forward in, bar the Aquilani madness of course.

Don't see Borriello to City or Robinho to Milan as being very likely either. Borriello to Juve is a more feasible one that I've read.

Possible, now that Amauri & Iaquinta are injured... tho if Borriello has any sense in him, he will ask himself what happens when they become fit? It would be silly of him to join juve, he needs a mid table club.

Borriello to City sounds equally silly tho. Why would city need another striker? But it could be as a part of the payment for Robinho, milan are notoriously cheap bastards as you may recall Razz

I sincerely hope Huntelaar and Muntari stay where they are.

Ashley Young to Spurs still continues to have legs, with Keane/Jenas/Hutton going in the other direction.

Muntari I can live with, but I see very little point in signing him when We have Huddlestone, Palacios, Modric proving he can hack it in a deeper role, Sandro to come & Jenas.

Huntelaar god forbid. Bidding war between Schalke & Liverpool please!

ok We've just signed Sandro, already have Palacios and Huddlestone. Unless it were on a free, would be a pointless waste of money when we need a top class striker and probably a wide / creative player. Fabiano and Young would be perfect Ale

Rumours linke Barça with Mata/Robinho/Cazorla as a replacement for Zlatan. Don't think we are signing anybody despite Zubi and Pep saying the squad isn't closed yet.
