    Lecce and WBA.

Both were favourites to go down but effectively ensured their top flight status with the signings of Chevanton and Tchoyi respectively.

Milan... just played poker and waited until the clubs got desperat. But I dont envy the task of trying to control all those egos!

Definetly Milan, we have been waiting for a summer like this for around 5 years, we finally have a strong and competitive squad, maybe a left back would make this perfect but we have good options there and with new competition players like Zambrotta are expected to give more than they did last year.

Out of the list I like what Wolfsburg did, they signed two excellent players, Kjaer is one for the future and he is suitbale for the German league, Diego is a good player to link up with that formidable attack of Dzeko and Grafite although I wonder what will happen to Misimovic.

In Spain, as usual, Mourinho gets what he wants and he knows what the team needs so they had a good transfer campaign, although im sure many of the new signigns will be thrown away by next year but that is typical of Mourinho.

so milan have a defence and midfield with an average age of 45 and easily the laziest strikeforce ever put together and people think they are going to do well?!
The bigger teams will pick them off with ease as ronnie, robby and big nose stand on the halfway line waiting for the ball.

There is truth in that last bit... hopefully we wil see a lot of that Wink

But that said, Milan did make much more of an attempt to reduce their average age this summer:

    Papa 22
    Boateng 23
    Amelia 28
    Montelongo 22
    Robinho 26
    Ibra 28

Plus a whole lot of younsters (Filkor, Fossati, etc) and some maturing primavera players (Oduamadi, Strasser) to add to the not too old members already in their squad - Pato, Abate, Antonini, Flamini, Onyewu, Bonera, etc

If you consider all that, its no longer as old a squad as most people think... their average age has dropped (even tho their average nose has got longer Razz).

A front 4 of Ronaldinho, Robinho, Ibrahimovic and Pato Banton doesn't exactly scream workrate, but stick Flamini in behind and you're laughing.

At least they will be able to keep the ball for a while

    Liverpool adopt the opposite approach

Select the runners with the least amount of ball keeping ability possible

It should be great fun to watch Milan. Ibra will have to up his game to even make that side bounce

Cardiff signing Craig Bellamy is my deal of the window.

People will overlook Man City I expect, but regardless of the prices paid they have strengthened immeasurably and with quality players the right age.
