    http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Ashley-Cole-shoots-Chelsea-fan-in-disgraceful-training-ground-prank-article707855.html

Ashley Cole has allegedly shot and wounded a Chelsea work experience boy after "larking" around with a high-powered rifle.

The incident happened last Sunday at the Blues Cobham training ground when Cole pulled the deadly .22 air gun from a box and fired at 21-year-old student Tom Cowan from just FIVE feet away.

A source told the News of the World: "It's truly inconceivable that a Premier League footballer could bring a gun to the training ground.

"But Ashley pulled the rifle from a box and started larking about with it in the changing room, not realising it was loaded. It ended up pointed at Tom just five feet away.

"The gun went off with a loud pop and Tom screamed as this lead pellet hit him in the side. It went through his clothing and into his flesh."

Police were not called, but injured Tom was patched up by medics and given time off to recover.

You couldn't make it up Shocked

You have to assume that Tom is not happy with the way Chelsea treated the matter, hence the story being reported. Police may be involved now.

Some material for United fans to work on for Tuesday night.

Judging by his penalty last week I think Ashley got the wrong end of the stick when someone told him he needed a bit more shooting practise.

Unbelievably dumb from Cole, who seems to push the boundaries lower and lower regarding the stupidity of footballers. What on earth was he doing bringing a gun (even if it just an air rifle) to training anyway?!

Air rifle shots can be fatal - at least 2 people were killed by them in 2009.

The type Cashley had is the most powerful available which can be bought without a licence.

If charges are brought against him and he is found guilty of GBH, maximum penalty is 5 years in prison. Apparently. Doubt if it will come to that but Chelsea will have to do something - they've obviously tried to supress a serious incident which happened within the club premises, not another tabloid scandal.

Only if you're shot in the fucking head with it, and even then you've got to be incredibly unlucky. I've been shot by a .22 before, cousin was shooting targets and shot me in the leg, its like a painful wasp sting that makes you bleed. This intern, who's from Loughborough University by the way, and isn't a Chelsea fan despite what the papers are saying is clearly just in it for the money. I also doubt that Ashley Cole would bring the rifle to training as some of you are suggesting Rolling Eyes it's more likely that the gun is on the ground in order to deal with rabbits and other rodent pests that can get on to the training ground.

And why shouldn't he be? If Ashley Cole shot me like this my reaction would be horrible.
