The problem with Barcelona scoring first is that they always dominate possession, nobody can do that better than them, hence making it incredibly difficult for the other team to come back. Not impossible, but very difficult, more difficult than the other way around.

Suppose but never rule United out of scoring a goal out of nothing, all it takes is one ball from Giggs over the top to Hernandez or Rooney and they'll score.

I don't. I was actually one of the few who gave them a realistic chance to win the final after the semis, when many of your compatriots believed that their midfield in particular would be raped by Barca. It all depends on how United approach this game. If they are too cautious / defensive, they will lose.
