Euro 2012 seedings Empty Euro 2012 seedings

    Post by Ä Fri Sep 02, 2011 12:39 pm

it looks like the Fifa rankings determine the group seedings for Euro 2012

    in other words

Holland and Spain being AHEAD of Germany, for instance, MATTERS big time

there will be four groups with four countries each

Poland and the Ukraine top their group and , as it stands now, Holland and Spain would top the other

it's therefore possible that Germany (or England) could end up in a group with Spain, France and Portugal

    Yikes

    http://www.sport1.de/de/fussball/fussball_em/newspage_449253.html

Germans really should stop talking about Spain as their only rival for the title

they could be out in the second round already

Well thats the same situation as in 2008 were we could have ended up in the netherlands/france/italy group instead of italy.

Two weak hosts are always depressing, but whatever. Just win all games and get the thing.

Have Germany ever been drawn in a tough group?

Last/only one I can think of is 2004.

They rarely end up in the group of death. No reason to worry Ottolein Ale

But now imagine it with Germany

    Netherlands - Germany 0-3

Would have also been spectacular Biggrin

But for real, the only thing that should change ist the A vs B and C vs D mixing until the final. Thats really bad and makes it more like two small tournaments where the winner of each play the final.

Last world cup was fairly tough, as world cup groups go - Ghana, Australia, Serbia..

And there's Euro 2000 of course..

So...basically there is a 50% chance of Germany drawing Poland or Ukraine... Rolling Eyes

As for England in the second tier, they are even more shite in the Euros then in the WC! Which says something!
