Seedorf will play for Botafogo now. A big Brazilian team that's not so big anymore. Their last important title was the national league in 1995. Since then, nothing. At least he'll have the beaches and the good view in Rio de Janeiro.

That's pretty much all he wants now. That, and a decent paycheck. I'm surprised no Arabs or Chinese went for him.Mongrel Hawk wrote:Seedorf will play for Botafogo now. Also, his wife is Brazilian.
Other news:
Forlán was signed by Inter (from Porto Alegre).
There are rumours São Paulo are interested in Beckham.

Re: Seedorf signed by Botafogo
Was in the Dutch news already months ago.
Like Todo says, the reason he is going, is that his wife is from Brazil.
I prefer this way more then when players go to the China of the feckin middle east or something.
Though it remains a shame to see Dutch players no longer come home again. Then again Seedorf lived most of his life abroad already.

Who needs Seedorf when you've got Ronaldinho and your team is topping the league?
BTW, congrats Todo. After years of mockery, you finally won Libertadores. I was glad for Corinthians. They are one of the very few brazilian clubs that have a true loyal fan base. Nobody deserves it more than you.

Thanks.
I have not decided yet which's the most important title I have seen: Brasileiro 1990 or Libertadores this year.

Seedorf was presented to a stadium that was less than half full.

Botafogo fans, as well as Fluminense fans, São Paulo fans and Cruzeiro fans, are a disgrace.
They almost never have a full stadium, except in finals. Most Botafogo games have less than 10 thousand people. Seedorf went to one of the most depressive and decadent clubs in South America.

The top European stars will come later on. First it will be all the South American cracks, then the Europeans. China shall sign most of the African stars. The EPL will be full of only British players, just how they like their league to be.

Lots of big names there now - great to see Vagner Love top scorer and Seedorf doing well.

The brazilian league is on Dutch TV these days, but with all respect, it's not really a strong league at all. Competative yes, but the pace is none. It has a very long way to go to catch up with the European leagues.

Re: Seedorf signed by Botafogo
Pierre,
Ronaldinho is playing well, and Atlético are topping the league alongside Fluminese. Those are the favourites to win this year, Grêmio coming behind. And I won't be surprised if Ronaldinho plays in the next WC. Luís Fabiano too. I don't get why he failed in Europe. I think he's excelent, better than Robinho, Pato, Hulk...
Fey,
I really don't think the Brazilin league is behind the Dutch, Portuguese and French leagues today. Let's see how Corinthians will do against Chelsea - if both reach the final. I know English football fans don't care for this cup, but it must be an interesting game to see about this pace thing you're talking about.
