    lol!

Just seen both goals were made by Dutchies. Anyway, Huntelaar scored vs Arsenal. Not sure if it's a big game goal, but considering it was the 0-1 and away, im willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

    FT Dortmund 2-1 Real Madrid

Not the biggest surprise in the world, we really do have a terrible record in Germany. BUT, if it weren't for Pepe being a complete idiot we could have even won.

Jesus we stank the place out. Once again, we got what we deserved - zilch. Gamblers among you, feel safe to put a large bet on us presenting QPR's first win of the season on a silver plate on Saturday, and on us not getting CL next season.

Oh well done Ajax and Dortmund.

The problem is, of all the matches I watched on saturday. The German one was the most boring, however in Europe, German teams play better football then English teams, who are only good thanks to the foreigners. If the EPL wouldnt have those, it would be the worst league in the world. Cause English players are really inferior. And even then, English teams in Europe are shite to watch. However if its City against Spurs or something then it's rahter attractive.

I remember spurs being rather fun to watch in the champions league. And slaying some Germans on the way with English players.

Simple fact is, the big clubs in England just ain't very good so far this season bar Chelsea (losing away to shakhtar no disgrace).I sense the German teams have shot their load early, quicker than Boris Becker in a broom cupboard. They'll be in the corner smoking a poist coital cigarette when the real orgy starts, as per usual

Was going to argue its the German league, but its changed so much in the last few years. A lot more competitive and more quality has come through that league.

Can't wait for it either Bernsteinowitz! Your yiddo compatriots were scared for this game, but considering they were 3-1 up early one could hear the Bombs on Rotterdam chant for ages! Clearly they are in the mood, and are getting arrogant again( omg they are just like you) well let them bring it on. I doubt they will realise that the 3-1 was more thanks to City being so insanely shite, then them being good.

Still kudos for their win though. EPL champs afterall. With a squad that costed 400 million or so. I believe the c**ts line up was:

    Vermeer - youth product
    Van Rhijn - youth product
    Alderweireld - youth product
    Moisander - 2.5m
    Blind - youth product
    Eriksen - youth product
    Poulsen - free
    Schone - free
    Sana - 250k
    De Jong - youth product
Babel - free (originally a youth product)
    Total cost: 2.75m

the movement off the ball and pressing, it seems die Bundesliga has set new standards in that area, while the EPL is piss poor in that area, the epl has still the best attacking players, but pretty average in midfield, not just the players, also tactically

while die Bundesliga has now also very gifted players in every area

i count ze GERMANS in this weeks cl (only starters)

    schalke 5
    arsenal 2
    real 2
    bayern 7
    dortmund 8

People being harsh on arsenal. They were blatantly jet lagged from the flight to Norwich on the weekend.

Ajax result absolutely superb. Fuck you Mansoors cheers

German clubs have started brilliantly. But its a marathon, not a sprint. Everybody jerking off this time last year over bayern. Didn't exactly work out for them in the end. Proceed with caution given the Germans are now ze biggest bottlers in Europe currently.

EPL has peaked in 2008, after that you could see the decline in every single year

City are just shite in Europe. That's the forfeit they made when they hired Mancini. The other 3 will qualify. Been hearing how the epl is in decline for years now. Sure, might not be as good as it once was in the CL, but will still continue to chug away picking up enough points and silverware to remain ahead of the bundesliga. Which despite being predicted to cause HUMILIATION UND DOMINATION is now without a Cl winner in 11 years and counting. Will fully believe in its glory when, like the German national team, it actually sees through a full victorious campaign instead of teasing us with Michael ballack style "close but nein cigar" performances. That said, enjoying the football Dortmund in particular are playing. Winning the cl like that and not like Chelsea would unite the cynics

yeah they are shite, but they still 2nd in the league and the current champion

think about it WHY are they shit in europe and in the same way very competetive in the league, even with 10 men

the standard of the epl has fallen, in many areas

OK dortmund was last year shit too, but i have to admit, last season they looked like the better team in most group stage games

chelsea looked hopeless against a.madrid and donezk (2 teams who play modern footy), OK bayern lost against bate, but they didn`t looked hopeless, city is city, and united, yeah they look like the 2nd best team in any match that they play

football has progressed, and the EPL has fallen far behind the new standards

Can't even begin to state how shocked I am by Ajax's result Shocked

The pundits were predicting scorelines along 1-14...and I really didn't think that was that much of a joke.
This young (homegrown) Ajax team is just fourth in the hugely entertaining, but otherwise weak Eredivisie. They coulnd't even hold on to 0-2 at Heracles (3-3 final score) last weekend. Heracles ffs !

How by all that's holy, can a team that's second in the strongest/wealthiest league not obliterate a kindergarden team that's fourth in a Mickey Mouse league ?!

Far far too simplistic and you know it. Mancini had a similar problem in Italy as well with Inter. Inter were winning Serie A whilst AC Milan were winning the CL.

Similarly, Man City Champions of England struggling ended up watching last season's 6th placed team in England win the CL. Yes, wasn't a comprehensive canter for Chelsea, but it happened.

Similarly, last year Dortmund arrived into Europe as Champions of Bundesliga and knocked out in the group stages coming bottom of their group.

None of it as simple as League form directly correlated to European form. For a start the team that Man City put out yesterday wasn't what anyone would class as their strongest 11. Mancini got complacent, or perhaps having spent hundreds of millions felt he could rotate his squad and still beat the likes of Ajax. There is something delightful in him being proven wrong.

You've been crowing about the demise of the EPL ever since you joined these boards. One Wednesday evening when German clubs have a rare faultless evening has got you all excitable. Let's see how things stand in May before claiming the death of the EPL though Ale

it's true. We all thought the EPL was dead and buried after the round of 16 first legs last year and then an EPL club went on to win it.

    typical shortsighted ITALIENS

i talk about the progress of the complete league, not just one lucky title, chelsea will get outplayed in europe by more then 10 teams when they don`t park the bus, they look good in the league, but they have no serious midfield to battle (pressing is non existent in this league, also movement off the ball or tracking back from attacking players, or simple very good passing), this makes mikel and ramires look good

Let's see how things stand in May before claiming the death of the EPL though Ale

    maybe a bit

in the last 8 years italien football in the CL was never really competetive, they had just the big AC Milan years (they played the style that was suited for european football)

and then was the ONE SEASON WONDER INTER with Mourinho, all other italien teams were never really serious competetive, given there style of play which they play in the league

a league strenght is not just the top flight, it goes at least to position 8-12 in the table, how you play these opponents to succed

as i remember (can be wrong) mourinho changed the INTER style for europe

Actually, of all the team in England, I think this season Chelsea are

    1) The least likely to park the bus
    2) Get outplayed

They weren't great against Shakhtar sure, but they played open football.

    The midfield of

Ramires (brilliant DM, do not be fooled) Mikel (the weak link)

Mata (brilliant) Oscar (raw, but extremely talented) Hazard (dick, but ridiculously talented)

is as good as anything in Europe after perhaps Barcelona.

I see them as the big threat both in England and Europe this season, IF Torres finds form or they, god forbid, buy Falcao
