Van Persie scores to level for Man Utd.
Man Utd also awarded a penalty now, literally 10 seconds after the incident occurred.

As far as I can tell, the best league in Europe is either the SPL or Bundesliga.
Barcelona were undone in a very similar manner to how Chelsea beat then. Just buy a few defenders please. And call me a traditionalist, but if you're gonna cross the ball 25 times a match, having a player above 6ft in the box might be a decent idea.
Villa looks nothing like what he used to be.

very tight now
you have to beat chelsea at home, and have to win a very hard away game in donezk
not so easy, the 2 lost points in the last round could hurt now

Hopefully Fraser Forster will get into the England squad now as well. Seems to be a very decent shot stopper (with typically poor distribution).

Ya. It's going to be very tough next 2 matches...especially against Chelsea. Not because Chelsea are playing well...they seem to be carrying their luck forward since the last championship.

Have you been waiting all day for me to post something so you could come back with that. It's not a knee jerk reaction, as my analysis was in itself confined to this performance, with what he used to produce. This performance was clearly sub par.
A kneejerk reaction would be "Villa is finished" or "Villa will never again be the player he once was"

Watching these Portuguese clubs leave a bitter taste in my mouth, where do they get the money from? Their newer stadiums are never full, cause they are poor there and the TV money is even less in Holland. How do they do it? Yes, they make insane transfers, but half of that money goes to player and agent.

Can't see them doing it, but all they have to do is beat Chelsea at home and hope Shakhtar win their game against Nordsjaelland(which they are very likely to do btw). I think both teams(Juve, Shakhtar) go through in that case if I'm not mistaken.

Nah, the best case scenario for Juve is if they beat Chelsea, and Shakhtar lose to Nordsjaelland. Then Juve will only need a draw away to Shakhtar.
Its very difficult otherwise for Juve, who have to win the next two games... one too many draws. There might be a lot more Italian teams in Europa League KO phase this season than usual.

He's come back from a long long lay off and injury to find that the his manager doesn't trust him and when he does get on the pitch he isn't playing in his natural position. Added to the fact that he and Messi don't get on because Villa is a centre forward and his first instinct is always to try and shoot but Messi gets fabulously offended if Villa doesn't pass him the ball - well you can see why this isn't the David Villa from Valencia/Spain. He would have been better off coming to Madrid where he would have played as an out and out centre forward and not been exiled to the wing but that's life and his ship has sailed. He'll probably play at Swansea next year.
