it seems that the EPL is the new cannon fodder league in europe

and for germany, wouldn`t surprise me to have a 3rd week in a row where german teams will be undefeated in europe

I am not getting really the point of this thread, apart from it might be some measure of a league's relative success in European competition, which should be looked at at the end of the season. But unless you win something what is the point?

Will you be happy to reach the number 1 spot (on the basis of having a number of teams in the quarter finals), only for a spanish, english or other team to win the CL and Europa League every year? To me it is like saying "look we had 65% possession after you have just lost 1-0". The point is to win, not to have high possession stats.

now you sound like the italiens all around the world WIN A TROPHY Sleep of course its important, but its also important to have a competetive league, the rest will come from alone, and no one can deny that german football has made big steps since 2010

First time I've seen this lol!

Athough EPL should be thanking Spurs - unbeaten so far, doing good work on the coefficients, just like we did when we got further than Arsenal in the last CL campaign we played in.

I can also say with 100% certainty that we would have done better than Man City, even in that same group. Mancini led teams are a disaster in Europe

It is very impressive from German teams though, they are neck to neck with EPL now to finish 2nd on UEFA ranking next season. In the next 18 months, if Bundesliga edges the EPL sides in Europe, it will finish 2nd. But will it though? I still have my doubts...

we can already finish 2nd with the end of this season, and after the cl draws its just a formality Wink

this league is just at the begin of an huge era, just look what happened to malaga, another reason why die Bundesliga is the biggest threat for La Liga, it will take 2-3 years and we will have the lead in the 5 years ranking, though the most important is to never give up the 4th cl spot

Yes! never give up the fourth CL spot, never ever!

With Serie A making a comeback it seems the leagues in Europe are going to be more or less like this:

    1. España
    2. Deutschland
    3. Italia
    4. Who cares! (I forgot about the Asian TV market, so Man Unit..erm, England here)

    italy is doing really well

england has tottenham as saviour, but our 3 cl teams ( all of them will get bonus points for reaching the next round) should increase our lead dramatically, so based on the 5 years ranking we will be the 2nd best league in the world

next week 2 wins + 3x bonus points

Serie A is doing better but not really well, they are marginally better off at the moment than the EPL who are doing badly.

It depends on how far Juve and Milan get compared to Spurs and Newcastle lol!

can anyone tell he who this optimistic guy was cheers

"So I predict that Germany will not stay over Italy for more than 3 seasons (at most), after which Italy will regain their place. One reason for this is because Italy will start gaining points on Germany from 2013 ranking onwards, when 2006-07 points go out of the 5 year consideration set – this works out to be about 7 points in next 3 season. Add to that the impact of point 2 & 3 above, I suspect it will be over 4 points. My analysis shows that Italy will regain their third spot in the 2015 rankings, ie they will once again have 4 CL teams in 2016-17 season."
