    Africa... Empty Africa...

    Rolling Eyes

So in the African WC qualification seven games got turned around because a team fielded an ineligible player.
Equatorial guinea got his 4-3 win against Cape Verde vindicated and the game was counted 0-3 in Cape Verdes favour for example.

Last matchday: Tunesia lost 0-2 against Cap Verde and the latter advanced to the final qualification round. NOT. They fielded a player who was suspended for 4 games because of a red card. Now tunisia is in again.

    EMP, what's going on ?

CAF is a joke and so are African federations. Even the African champions are terrible. There is pressure to get results from short term contracts and getting told who to pick. Hayatou is immune from challenge in Africa despite being named in the corruption scandal. And there is the politics of Africa impacting on its football. Put that together and this is what you get, but of course we all know there's no corruption in any other confederation, don't we?

I love the fact that Tunisia already was able to get rid of the coach after being "eliminated" lol!

    First legs of the playoffs:

    Burkina Faso 3-2 Algeria
    Ethiopia 1-2 Nigeria
    Ghana 6-1 Egypt
    Ivory Coast 3-1 Senegal
    Tunisia 0-0 Cameroon

looks like Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast all on their way. other two much in the balance. would be a surprise if none of the North African teams made it.

Feel sorry for Egypt! Hardest possible draw and after all these successful African Cups they never qed for the WC recently.

Everything else as expected. Hope Tunisia loses because they are always boring.

Where's EMP? What excuse do Egypt have this time?

Btw, Nigeria and Ivory Coast are both stronger than Ghana. Those three are all in decent shape though.

Cote d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Cameroon all qualified. Ghana too, barring Egypt miracle.

so it just remains to see if Burkina Faso can hold onto to their narrow lead in Algeria.

Looks like a pretty decent bunch this time around. Would prefer Algeria to Burkino Faso and especially since they would be the only Arab team. Shame it couldn't be Egypt though. Of course I would prefer Senegal to any of them but I'm quite happy with these teams.

Was this really Oct 15, 2013? Feels like just a few weeks ago.

Anyway, whats the verdict of Africa and african football after this WC? I think its the same as always. No progress and thus got overtaken by CONCACAF. USA, Mexico and Costa Rica > Africa. Honduras was bad but could become stronger in the future.

Cameroons main problem was the organisation and hierarchy. Total mess.
Ghana with their fighting over money. retarded. Otherwise could be the strongest of them all.
Ivory Coast good football, but chokers.
Nigeria played boring football but quiet OK for their standards.
Algeria: suprise of the year. Not only because of the game against Germany but their whole group games were quiet good. Coincidentally had the best organization of them all. And fighting spirit.

Marocco dqed from the ACN. And as a host too. Because they wanted to host it in 2016 after ebola.

CAF says: Fuck off, there is always aids, ebola, black people, starvation and malaria in africa.

    Marocco: kk, thx bye.
