I don't think he'll get sacked for this, after all Liverpool have been blowing opponents off the park recently, but the next few fixtures (Southampton away, then West Brom home and Stoke home) would be vital. If he loses those.....

Why don't you have Suarez in your team Glenn?
Emotional bet hedging.
when he does this I'm happy because Liverpool win and sad because I don't get the points.
If I had him in my team and he wasn't scoring I would be doubly sad.
38 points for Suarez today, 44 when he gets the bonus points

You understand that contracts run out Luis.
Last summer 45/50 would have been fair. This summer, probably the same.
Although you might get lucky if Madrid decide they want him.

Re: Premier League 14/15 December 2013
Its a funny old league this year.
Everton are having a wonderful season, City look favourites to many - Spurs are woeful, yet they are just 4 and 5 points behind respectively.
You do need time to gel and there are numerous examples - City were an obvious one, PSG losing out to a vastly inferior group of Montpellier players - where teams really need some time when they make a lot of signings.
You would have to say spurs did too many at once but now they have done that they need to give him the time.
There was a stat before the 2011 CL final that showed Barca and United had the best squad continuity of all clubs in europe.
Barca were obvioulsy the best but United over achieved 'cos they had great continuity.
Spurs usually have more new players in their team this season than any rival and, unlike Everton for example with Lukaku and Barry, the players are new to the league/country rather than just new to spurs.
Spurs have to decide which of these players need time to bed in and which ones are duds.
Chirches - looks very good
Capoue - decent squad/utility player
Holtby - decent squad utility player and possible starter
Lamela - great talent, give him time
Eriksen - also quite talented and creative and may be good enough (not sure on him though)
Chadli - not doing great but has the attributes to make hit so give him time
Paulinho and Soldado are duds I'm afraid.
You cannot spend that amount on a 5ft 10, not especially quick 28 yo who has never played outside his home country before.
Paulinho is the worst Brazilian ever.
He can arrive in the box to score but can't strike a ball properly, can't pass, can't dribble and isn't very quick.
Apart from that he's great

This has got to be a wind-up, I'm sure you're bright enough to understand the economics of football and Suarez' value to Liverpool is greater than you're're suggesting. Qualification for the Champions League is worth up to £50 million-a-season. Put Suarez into any of the top 8 or 9 EPL sides and they're immediate contenders. Obviously this means very little to clubs who already expect to qualify but clubs don't pay what the player is worth to them, they have to pay what the player is worth to the selling club.

I do wish we could have replaced Harry with Martinez. No way would we have had this much negativity surrounding the appointment of AVB from the get go. When things go bad with us everything piles on tenfold.
Making Henderson and Joe Allen look worthy of their price tags is a near sackable offence in itself, so he better change his methods if he gets to hang on.

Re: Premier League 14/15 December 2013
Yowsers. Well that was.....interesting.
Liverpool fully worth their win. Henderson would be winner of 'most improved player' if it weren't for Ramsay.
We were schooled today. Simple as that. And whilst people will point at the Man City and Wham results to claim this wasnt a one off, it was still surprising given there were glimpses the team was coming together in previous games.
At this point very hard to defend AVBs rigid tactics - if you're down to playing a backline comprising of Naughton (possibly the worst footballer in the PL), Dawson and a makeshift midfielder as CB, why the hell would you risk such a high line against a free scoring mobile front three of Suarez, Coutinho and Sterling? Suicide.
AVBs problem is that, like at Chelsea, he is either too stubborn or naive to change and adapt based on what's at his disposal. Playing inverted wingers with natural wide players like Lennon/Townsend. Paulinho as his creative number 10. What the absolute feck?
Anyway, credit to Liverpool, they look slick and Rodgers has done a fantastic job getting them in tune and playing how Spurs used to play once upon a time. Great to watch. Avoid too many injuries and top 4 nailed on.

Tottenham are on course to score 36 goals in the league this season. ((15/16) x38)
They scored 37 last season if you ignore Bale's goals and assists. (65-28)
I think this pretty much proves that TWERP and Transsexual Slutbucket™ are LIARS

Re: Premier League 14/15 December 2013
Henderson has been impressive this season but still has loads to improve on. His work rate alone makes up for a lack of ability in some games, in this sense he is like Dirk Kuyt. The midfield looked very agile today and I think this helped him.
Sterling was very good today - I was harsh on him the other week because I felt he was woeful against Hull (so was everyone though) and pretty frustrating vs West Ham. Don't know what Brendan has said to him but he looked fantastic today at times - his confidence was much improved, he cut inside way more and looked anything but predictable. The big fear with Sterling is that he's going to get bullied against physical opposition but he showed today if he can whizz past his man and trick him then the defender can't even get near him to bully him!
Delighted for Flanagan, he's been thrown in against some good teams and dealt with the pressure really well; he's pretty good defensively but going forward I think he's a long way off the quality we need, whereas Enrique is the opposite most of the time.
We have Cardiff (h), City and Chelsea away and Hull (h) next 4 games. If we can win the home games and get 2 points or more from the aways then we should be set up nicely with Sturridge and Gerrard probably returning after that.

The point we made last year was Bale had to get service to score all those goals, the goalscorer himself is not the only constituent sum of all parts.
How controversial. Definitely worth you two dredging it up like a pair of triumphant cockwombles.

Bale's not the Spanish Darren Bent. Service helps, but isn't so necessary for the 30 yard screamers he was scoring.
