I rate him as well. I think him and his agents are really difficult to deal with though. I also don't think he is a DM, he seems more of box to box for me. In fairness I would definitely have him at Everton ahead of James McCarthy. McCarthy defensive game and engine is very good, but someone like Diame would suit Barry nicely as well.Isco Benny wrote:Everytime I see Diame play I am impressed. Left Wham on a free didnt he? Wonder why there werent more suitors. Seems a very good athletic hard pressing DM with good technique. When you consider a club like Arsenal are trying to get by with Arteta, its rather strange.
I am still not sure what to think of Bruce as a manager, but definitely he knows how to spot what kind of player he does need and find someone fitting it on the market. Snodgrass should be in the team ahead of Quinn when coming back. Dawson looks like a good fit for partnership with more mobile Curtis Davies. Diame mixes well with Huddlestone and Livermore. And Andrew Robertson seems a like a decent full back. But not sure if team like Hull CIty can get away with playing two attacking full backs like him and Elmohamady. They are already risking it playing with two strikers, even if one of them (usually Jelavic) seems to have some defensive responsibilities.
Also, what happened with Bruce playing 3-5-2? He actually was the only Premier League manager who seemd to know how to use it properly on permanent basis.
Newcastle on the other side still didn't replace Cabaye properly, way too much is expected from Tiote and Colback isn't much of the help. I am not completely familiar with their recent transfers, so maybe there is someone on the bench/missing for it. For sure Cabella is more attacking minded player, right?
Nice to see Papiss Cisse scoring again, not impressed by Riviere, don't think playing as a lone striker suits him.
