How they do the points for Shelvey 12 points in Fantasy league when you make as many cock ups as he did is amazing..... Not knocking Liverpools good start  but his very early on own impact on his team screwed up Swansea system he was a nutter out there.   Still he gave it everything and if he wants to prove himself best to put in a stellar performance while people are looking.

Decent enough match for us; mixed start for Southampton with a win, 2 draws and a defeat. Only scored 2 goals as well. Obviously they have some players that can hurt you like Lambert, Lallana, Osvaldo maybe but I think it's a game we should be looking not only to win but win fairly comfortably.

Coutinho's injury means the line up could be fairly interesting seeing as Suarez can't come in just yet.

I would hazard a guess at this:

I don't think Agger will make it and IMO given our full back problems, we might experiment with 3 at the back as we did on occasions last season. I think Rodgers likes Aspas and doesn't fancy Alberto yet in the Premier League.

The alternative is simply Aspas or Alberto in for Coutinho but I'm not sure either would do the same job as Coutinho does.

When have Liverpool played a 3-4-3? Is that normal, or have I missed something?

Without Coutino or Suarez, I see Liverpool struggling to create through the middle, and with Moses/Aspas who like to come inside, will get congested in that area of the pitch.

Is Sturridge any good at heading?

Haven't checked the news today about him but I thought Rodgers said he's still a doubt due to the injury he picked up in the club gym.

I thought Villa were poor. Delph and El Ahmady worked well but played badly, they didn't exploit their pace as well as they do playing 4-3-3, Luna got overloaded repeatedly, Tonev was ludicrous and they can't replace Benteke.

I had sort of assumed Norwich were doing what they did last year, but it looked like Hughton was trying to remake his Newcastle team - pace on one wing, a crossing expert on the other, two tall guys up front, graft everywhere else. Except the tall guys don't play knockdowns and the inverted wide men can't send in early balls. They still might easily have drawn this even without the penalty - Hooper and VWW missed sitters. If they do reorganise Fer/Snod would be an excellent combo for home games.

I hate how the BBC are giving Joe Kinnear credit for signing Remy. All the work was done in January ffs, all we had to do this summer was put a contract in front of him.

Ravel was a little lucky with the goal, he does look like a good player. Fat Sam cannot change the style of the Hammers they still try and play attacking attractive football even if they do not have the best players.
