Sturridge is injured again, calf strain or something in training.

    Bloody international breaks.

See my post on the LFC thread.

We always knew Sturridge was injury prone so when we lost Suarez we should have signed 2 good quality strikers that can play off the last defender. Instead we signed Balotelli who can't, kept the average Borini and thought an ageing chubby Rickie Lambert would be good enough. We are so shit at transfers it's unreal.

It's ok though, the only striker who actually looks any good that we have is on a season long loan at Lille. Brilliant.

In terms of this weekend we should be putting that woeful QPR side to bed but it's one of those post international games where we'll probably look utterly shite and draw or lose.

Considering we have Madrid on Wednesday I'd go with this:

    Mignolet

    Manquillo
    Skrtel
    Lovren
    Moreno

    Can
    Henderson
    Allen

    Lallana
    Sterling
    Balotelli

Fuck playing Gerrard in this and vs Madrid - he will be dead chasing Ronaldo back.

    Mason

Aguero is unplayable at times. Has a long history of embarrassing our clumsy central defenders.

Scoreline fair reflection, they have edged it, but satisfying that we are putting up a fight at least. Eriksen and Soldado linking up sweetly. Lamela looks like hes on speed, and not in a good way.

Wonder how much the pundits are going to sweep the Lampard dive under the carpet. Shocking dive. But...but...its Lampard, Jamie Redknapps cousin!

Conflicted by what I am seeing. On the one hand, I thought we played quite well. On the other, playing quite well yet still getting beaten 4-1 is sobering.

Here in the US, they have an NFL show called Turning Point where they analyse the crucial key moments in past games that defined the outcome. In this game it was the Soldado penalty. I would wager of the key moments in Spurs games against the top 4 in the last few years, almost 100 percent have been thrown away unnecessarily.

We had them worried for long stretches. Penalty miss and red card did for us, but ah well.

Even If we were to have a 5% chance of getting a point here Soldado is the last person to lead the line on his own.
