It annoys me that the media portrays this as fatty proving West Ham fans wrong, if they didn't complain about his football he wouldn't have changed. He came to Newcastle, had plenty of resources and skillful players, and played the same route 1 shite. He's only made an effort to do something else because another sacking would've ruined his career. It should be a victory for all the fans that complain about their teams ugly negative football but get told by the media and pundits that they're deluded and ungrateful for wanting more than a shithoofing team playing for draws.

Then how do you explain it when a team changes manager and has a big turnaround? Like Palace last season. Tbh it's that mentality that will get us relegated, coaches do matter.

Watching the Liverpool Hull game on my 60inch high def telly. Yet I still cant be sure if Balotelli is playing or not.

Sorry Pool fans, but that was a dire first half performance. Post Europe / loss of Suarez or whatever, they look nowt like they did last season.

Meanwhile Southampton are doing a Liverpool / Swansea. Wait until they have to play in Europe too without the surprise factor. We will see what sort of legend Koeman is then.

It can happen but research shows that in the long run sacking coaches wont work.

Look at Spurs after Jol left, they needed a coach who could take them to the next level...they failed that to this day.

Meanwhile Koeman is leadi ng again. If only Saints was still around to witness it.

Jol had us hovering around in 5th. We finished 4th twice in the next 5 seasons and won a cup, the disaster was Chelsea winning the CL which lost us crucial momentum at the time City were paying their way into the top 4. So Spurs isnt the best example, once again talking out of your clueless Dutch arse.

    Jol had 52, 65 & 60 points finishes.

    Since then:

    46 (Ramos), 52, 70, 62, 69 (Redknapp), 72 (AVB), 69 (AVB/Sherwood).

Jol had a prime Carrick, a fit King, & Berbatov. All 3 would walk into the current Spurs team.

To easy say that one is as good as his squad. Your right that the players are a prime factor In England it is more important as the players are walking planks of wood because of the youth and junior coaching so in walks the senior coaches that are expected to carry a larger load of low quality.

Im a huge Jol fan, but in all seriousness (as I know you enjoy a good dig at Spurs, which I admire for the bantz), we continued to progress upwardly after he had laid the foundations. The "plateau" and subsequent regression actually occurred because of 3 things - one was missing out on the CL after Chelsea won it, thus losing Modric, the ability to finance and sign top quality players. The second was all this happened around the time City leapfrogged the status quo and one of the top 4 clubs at that time were pushed out, namely us (the least established behind United, Chelsea and Arsenal). The 3rd was selling Bale, buying too many players, sacking AVB and replacing him with Sherwood all in the space of 3 months at a time when teams like Liverpool and Everton had found stability and re emerged.

The clocks go back tonight, and so do memories of one of the fixtures.

    Spurs Versus Newcastle.

The Euroboard's very own El Classico, circa 2007.

    Lennon v N'Zogbia.
    Berbatov v Martins.
    Bentley V Solano.
    Sandro v Tiote.
    Jenas v Jenas

*Sigh* That was a great time to be alive.

Fey rode the Geordie bus for awhile too back then, sucking up to Kimmy as he sought to validate his pointless existence as a Feyenoord fan by supporting a club in a meaningful league.

When he finally settled on Man United and turned his back on Newcastle the moment they turned shit, it was the most savage act of betrayal since Nutters left this board to post on a Bodybuilder's forum.

Alas, instead of waxing lyrical about N'Zogbia being the Black French Luis Figo, Kimmy openly acknowledges there is no hope for Newcastle currently.

Meanwhile, Tim Sherwood PTSD still lingers in the air down in N17, the days of hoping to finish top 4 have all but been extinguished for a good few years.

Once labelled by Kimmy as being a Deluded Fucks for claiming top 4 as a possibility - which then actually happened - we know that ship has sailed.

All that being said, I will be making a double concerted effort to celebrate watching this game on my 60 incher by raising a glass (of Kool Aid) to Aaron Lennon and Charles N'Zogbia, who will always be in my heart when watching this fixture. And knowing Fey showed himself up as the spineless toe rag he really is Ale

I'm just waiting for the games where neither Valencia nor Sakho score, then predictably Fat Sam will first substitute them, then relegate them to the bench. Like a typical dumbass little Englander that he is. Just watch how West Ham drop and drop in the table they will as soon as that happens because Fat Sam is simply one thick xenophobe c**t that will never learn or has he? Has he learn finally to support his foreign talent? scratch

I doubt it. Waiting for Fat Sam to do what he did at Newcastle.

First half I agree, we were so poor it hurt to watch.

Second half once Rodgers got Lambert and Coutinho on we played our best 25-30 minutes or so since the Spurs game IMO. It's frustrating that it's taken Rodgers this long to realise if Balotelli is going to start then he needs a strike partner up there with him. His game is all about linking up and playing off people so preserving with him as a lone striker has been ridiculous.

Until Sturridge is back we must either play Lambert and Balo up front or just Lambert.

Hull came for the 0-0 and it's a shame that we waited far too long before giving them any real trouble. If we had a confident in form striker we'd have won 1 or 2-0.

Really liking the look of Can - we need that physical midfielder who can bulldoze his way through. He's not the finished article by any means but definitely something we've been craving for years.

You have to be winning that game if you want to make 4th but there were slightly positive signs at the end - scoring goals remains a massive worry and something I don't think we can rectify until Sturridge is back or even until January.
