Do Man Utd need to sign another striker?

Man Utd have sorted out there central midfield problem with the signings of Carrick and Senna(soon). But have they now got a striking problem because Ruud has gone to Real Madrid?

Man Utd 1st team strikers 05/06 season: Rooney, Ruud, Saha, Rossi.

it depends on what type of striker you want, if you want a finisher, trez, and let rooney do all the work

i dont thiink torres will do well at utd

Yes they do, however both are very adaptable and I think it showed last season that we don't work better with an out and out striker (neither does Rooney). We need someone to offer movement as well. I wouldn't call Saha an out and out striker either but Rooney and Saha still work very well together.

I'd be willing to stick with that partnership if Saha could just stay fit for 2 months at a time.

Rooney and Torres would be the best combination

Rooney and Tevez....maybe but Rooney would have to be disciplined enough to stay up top and play of the shoulder more, I'm sure he's capable of leading the line

I would say that Tevez is the better finisher and has more skill but Rooney might be quicker and more creative.

I was thinking the samething. Tevez is very simialar to Rooney, but like you say both can adapt to each other and feed off each other. they could become a a great partnership. This stregnhtens may case that it should be Tevez that man u should go for. He is a little bulldog that could run all day long for the teams cause.

No way can Tevez and Rooney work together. You'd have to ask one of them to curb his natural game and play in the box. For either one of them it's a waste of their space finding skills and their creativity. They are both definitely second strikers. No debate.

& people would complain of two Rooney's up front?

Rooney is far more adaptable and could adapt to leading the line he has all the attributes. He's quick he's strong, he's relatively good in the air etc.

The only thing he lacks is the discipline and someone who can head the ball inside the box thus making the attack very narrow. Like an Arsenal but they have always seemed to manage with Henry and Bergkamp or whoever.

Tevez is more similar to Henry in striking style then Rooney. Rooney drops very deep and creates Tevez makes runs into the channels and runs at people

Pouiy hasn't seen Tevez play much for Boca or Corinthians.

They're almost the same - brash, temperamental, explosive, crative, stocky, technically gifted, powerful strikers of the ball, good at linking midfield and attack goodetc.

I don't think I've seen either of them score a headed goal.

That would be pretty crazy 3 of the worlds brightest young talents as a strikeforce imagine them when they are all 25

I seriously think u*d must sign a striker...can you imagine if Rooney or even Saha get injured for any length of time. Once that transfer window closes there is nothing U*d can do until January and if Rooney gets injured for months it could potentially ruin their season before it even gets started.

Too late, hes already cup tied and Ajax definitely want to keep him for a bit longer.

He has only been at Ajax for 6 months

It would start a bidding war probrably and Ferguson would never get his finger out to sign him.

I'm not sure how well he works with a partner upfront either

surely being cup tie would decrease his value? then we could possible sign him for less and still use him in the premiership and our european campaings arnt that succesful at the moment so that doesnt matter to me.

Maybe...anyway i very much doubt that you will even attemp to buy him.

i no but thats only because ferguson doesnt like risks as lately the risks (kleberson,djemba-djemba,etc) have not really payed off but i really think we should otherwise well end up paying over the odds for him later on if we want him. witness Ferdinand, veron, ronney, carrick, etc.
