Javier Zanetti - coz he has been a great loyal player for Inter who always gives his best, a true legend.

Maldini - for exactly the same reasons as Zanetti, even if its for the devil Wink

Cambiasso - very under rated, the best DM in the world, our new Zanetti!

Messi - coz I think he is the most talented kid in football, and has a good attitude

    Toni - simply spectacular

Martins - just love that kid's attitude - a free spirit.

Buffon - best GK in the world by miles, and you gotta admire his loyalty, even if its for a club you hate

Barzagli - for he is the chosen one, the new Baresi.

Robinho because I believe him to be one of the most naturally gifted players in a long time. Get's slagged off a lot, but he does some incredible things with a ball, that few if any, try to do.

I thought Eto'o was probably the most onform striker in Europe before his injury. He has everything. Can't ignore Villa or Toni, amongst others, who have been very impressive as well.

Aside from Warnock, I really like most of our players.

    Goran Pandev - Macedonian Maradona.

Valon Behrami - The best player of the next European Champions.

David Villa - Best striker in Europe at the moment and Fowler's replacement at Liverpool.

Dani Alves - Just because he'd be perfect for us.

Quagliarella - just for his recent goals.

    Di Michele - See Quagliarella.

Anatoliy Tymoschuk - The Ukranian Roy Keane.

Matuzalem - Silky passing, sweet left-foot.

Dimtro Chygrynsky - Great in the air. The best defender - when he's actually played - in the Ukraine. Will be in a bigger and better league sooner rather than later.

Artem Milevskiy - one of the best players in the U21 tournament last summer. His penalty against the Swiss at the world cup was the best moment of the game.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TbmXayd0IM

Mancini - He may play for Roma, but he's just incredible on either flank. Could do so much better... really. Best winger in Europe?

Oh, and of course, the ex-Lazio crew:

Stankovic, Veron, Signori, Nedved, Nesta, Mendieta, Fiore, Crespo, Lopez, Simeone, Corradi etc.

Steven "The Shining" Taylor - Big(really big) potential and bit of a head case, i could see him going on a Shining style rampage. He's got MAD eyes.
Charles "The Z0G" N'Zogbia - He's got a very naive way of playing which is exciting, he's always wanting to take people on.
Shay "Lazarus" Given - Best in the league, top 3 in the world, in my humble opinion. The reason we weren't relegated under Souness. Club legend.
Michael Essien - Awesome player, one of the best all round midfielders in the world.
Mancini - Best right winger in the world, very exciting player.
Thierry Henry - I like his arrogant attitude, the premiership would be a poorer place without him.
Scott Parker - Blood and guts type player, underrated when it comes to passing and technique.
Nobby Solano - Club legend, and possibly the nicest man to ever walk the earth.
Lucas Neill - He's what you want in a defender, not afraid to get stuck in.
Danielle De Rossi - If i could have one midfielder come to Newcastle, he'd be it(Or Essien). I like his attitude aswell.
Christian Chivu - I'd give my right teste for him to come to Newcastle, AWESOME player.
Wright-Phillips - Better than Lennon, people forget how good he was at Citeh.
Gigi Buffon - Will go down as one of the great keepers imo.

Eto'o is Barca's most vital player. They are far less potent with him up front. And he is really the only player in the sqaud that they don't have backup for. He's prolific, he works hard/tracks back, he's prepared to play on the wings, he's fast, both footed, skillful and his technique continues to improve (elastico et al)

It's a cash issue. The most Benitez has spent on a player is the £12million (eventually) Xabi Alonso and I don't think many would question that he's now an international star - as opposed to merely being a highly respected/talented La Liga star as when he signed.

I'd love us to splash out £20million+ on Villa, Eto'o (before you signed him) etc someone like that, but we just can't.

Remember that we spent relatively big on Cisse and his arrogance wasn't the Cantona-esque type that we were after. We also went for proven quality on Morientes, and that didn't work out for various reasons.

I'm comfortable seeing us buy £8-12million players. I don't think Rafa will make a mistake with that kind of cash. Kuyt was great in Holland and looks good for us thusfar, and we already know about Xabi.

Aye, I really like Chivu aswell. Again, it's a shame who he plays for. I know he's highly rated at the moment, but given that Roma almost certainly will qualify for the knock-outs in the CL (Crying or Very sad) I think people will end up talking about Chivu as one of the best 5-10 in the world by the end of the season, rather than as "borderline" world class.

Eto'o showed that he was good while at Mallorca.. he is not the best finisher in the world, but his speed, mobility and understanding of his team mates is impressive..

Sheva is very good.. top 3, despite his slow start and Drogba is top 10, due to the fact that in previous seasons he hasn't been that impressive but his recent form has been excellent..

(the attacking failure thing was due to the fact that I am very disappointed by our attack this season, yet we have only failed to score in 2 games and in 6 out of 10 games we have scored 3 or more. So if you really think that you have no 1 and 3 I would be gutted that you don't score more).

    Cesc-Fabs favorite current players

Xavi Hernandez - My favourite midfielder in Europe, his passing is so razor sharp.

John Terry - A real leader of men, a superb defender that could easily go on to be a legend.

    Thierry Henry -
A great example of a striker, someone at the top of his game. A good ambassador to the Premiership.

Cristiano Ronaldo - A exciting player that sometimes produces play that gets you off your seat.

Cesc Fabregas - Like a young Xavi has show huge promise to emulate his Spanish team mate.

Ronaldinho - When on form he is the most exciting players in the world.

Sergio Aguero - One of the brightest prospects in world football.

Gennaro Gattuso - A tough midfielder, a dying bred in the game. I love his commitment and determination.

Jamie Carragher - A great all round defender that seems comfortable in any position across the backline. His honesty and commitment to Liverpool is admirable. Very underated at times.

Robin van Persie - Highly skillful and unpredictable, great to watch.

I think the problem is that if you want to consistently good and compete for the top prizes year after year then you have to have at least 5 or 6 of your starting XI that are considered to be world class, and have the team gelling.. Currently Liverpool has maybe 3 or 4 that can be considered to be that level, but if Reina doesn't pay for the top class players you won't get up to the 5-6 neccesary..

I don't agree that Drogba is top 10. His form has always been very very good, it's just his goalscoring which was poor. But the number of assists he got in the 4-5-1 system was ridiculous.

In a 4-5-1, he doesn't score many goals, but his contribution was excellent.

In 4-4-2, he's added goalscoring and proven to be the most 'complete attribute-wise' striker on the planet. <Ale>

Maybe having Eto'o number 4 is a bit harsh, but I seriously think Drogba is a better overall striker, even if he does score fewer goals
