The spectre of Liverpool's five European Cup triumphs will forever haunt Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson, according to Old Trafford director Bobby Charlton.
As Fergie prepares to celebrate 20 years in the United hot-seat next week, Charlton has revealed that the most successful manager of the Premiership era is jealous of Liverpool's proud record in the most prestigious continental cup competition.
"I think the fact that Bob Paisley (three times a winner) and Liverpool have won the European Cup more times probably grates on Alex a little bit.," he said.
"For the number of times we've been League champions, we've not taken it that stage further. I think he'd like to win at least one more European Cup."
