Football is just a game and it should build bridges not put obstacles in the way. However I suppose in Spain it is very much tied up with history as in Scotland. I think the hatred between Man U and liverpool is much more healthy

Why should I be kidding? Drogba has cleaned up his act in the Premiership, no doubt about that and he has been a better player for it. However given Jose's comments before the game and previous sendings off for Chelsea players I wouldn't be surprised if he had had a word with Drogba.

It's only a theory as to why Drogba reverted to his old ways. He doesn't play like that in the Prem any more. Have you a better one?

Do you have a better theory? Drogba reverted but it was early on in the game so you can't say the game was out of control at that point. Actually Marquez was violent and kicked Essien in the nuts first . So it's perhaps not surprising that Carvalho exacted some revenge later on? However that said Carvalho gets away with a few things in games, it is part of his make up. He's lucky not to conceed more penalties than he does.

I think that when push comes to shove in a game where more than points are at stake (meaning pride), players will use anything that they think can gain them an advantage.. Drogba reverted to diving (as did Deco), Márquez and Carvalho rougher than usual, (Motta on the other hand always loses it).

I am just surprised that Dinho didn't lash out, or that Messi didn't try to force more fouls than he did.. I can't really comment on Chelsea players since I don't know them that well, but Drogba was king of the divers last night.. some of his antics were quite spectaular (Deco usually just flops down).

In the diving contest Drogba wins on quality, Deco on quantity. I suppose you could call that a draw

I dont really understand the whole hatred. So we scored in the last minute. So the game was heated and full of fouls and diving. Is this not why we love football? Is this not why we love the game that brings so much controvesy?

I am surprised that Barcelona let Chelsea upset them so much. This is nothing more than a fabricated rivalry made up by Chelsea so that they can try and build a "history" with a big European club. If it was Juventus, Liverpool, Ajax, Bayern or even Porto then you could understand the rivalry because each of these teams has European pedigree.

Chelsea and their staff fail to realise that a reputation based on respect has to be earned. Picking a fight with Barcelona is not the way to go about reaching this level. I mean for fuck sake, the Champions League is not a Prison!

I think Barca are being a bit bitter over all of this.

The fact of the matter is that you were lucky to win IMO.

At the end of the day though, fantastic game

The problem is due to the way Chelsea have condcuted themselves as a club, their manager and certain individual players, those have become dennotative signs, which connotations have become negative so its like a good old battle of Good Vs Bad, Chelsea being the latter.
