How many points to win the league this year?

I'd say 90 points would make any team a clear winner.

85 and it would be very close.

Hmm... I think anything above 80 will do it this year. I think there are plenty of teams who are all bunched together and want to reach similar goals, so I think we could end up having more "must win" games than usual.

Also, the league in general is far stronger than before.



While we're on the subject of points - what's the lowest the Premiership has ever been won with?

Man Utd, I think - either 1999 or 2003 - I'm sure it was 78.

77 I think or 79.


I think it will take more than low 80's as well. I mean that would mean that us or Chelsea could just pick up around 2 points a game and still win it.

I'd say 85 plus would be most likely.

We had 79 points in 1999.

In 97 we had 75 points.

Strange, since you won that year at a canter - It was a very competitive league though.

85 points will almost certainly be enough in my opinion, and it could be less than that depending on how the head to heads go, Manchester United have something ridiculous like Chelsea,Liverpool,Arsenal all away next year.

Yep and I'd take 4 or 5 points out of those 3 games if it was handed to me now.

We also need to beat Chelsea at home as well.

I still think Chelsea will win 30 games this year.

I think United will probably win that many too.

It could go down to 90-95 points this year.

I think the winner will get around 80 points or less. The EPL is the most competitive in europe; the top 4 are more or less all on the same level and there are 7 or 8 teams out there capable of beating anybody on their day.

In the event that teams have level points, how are the separated? Is it goal difference, or results between the teams?

Goal diff then goals scored... I don't know after that, coin toss? Fair play league?

A play off between the two teams over two legs. The same would occur for any position in the league where only one team can take the position.
