Scolari vs. Queiroz Empty Scolari vs. Queiroz

Not sure it's made international press, but there has been a war of words between Portugal's head man and Manchester's 2nd in command.

The conlfict has steemed from a situation around Ronaldo being supposedly injured and the Utd board 'suggesting' he shouldn't play in Portugal's most recent match.

Scolari played Ronaldo and subsequently claimed it's best for each manager to mind his own buisness, and then moved on to accuse Queiroz of double-talk, attempting to please the Utd faithfull by claiming in public Ronaldo should be saved while telling the Portuguese staff he was good to go.

Furthermore, Scolari accused Queiroz of being in the process of strategically placing himself for a future roll at the helm of Portugal's National squad.

Any thoughts on this? It's a little surprising these big boys have decided to make this whole stiuation public...

Sir Alex Ferguson has blasted Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari after he claimed Carlos Queiroz was after his job.
Scolari made his shock claim after Queiroz watched Portugal's 3-0 win over Kazakhstan on Wednesday.
The Brazilian suggested that Queiroz was 'hanging around' the Portugal squad in the hope he would one day get the head coach's role.
Scolari also indicated that Queiroz had told him United were offering contrasting public and private positions over Ronaldo's ankle injury.
Queiroz has denied speaking to Scolari and Ferguson has launched an angry attack on Scolari for what he said about the Manchester United assistant manager.
"The comment Scolari made about Carlos hanging about the Portugal games looking for a job was a crazy thing to say," said Ferguson.
"I am sure Scolari goes to watch Porto and Benfica at some point. Is he after the guy's job?
"I had three of my coaches and all my scouts out at games in Europe this week. I am sure they are all still working for me.
"Carlos is a fantastic professional and he never spoke to Scolari at all.
"It confuses me that Scolari inferred Carlos spoke to him and marked his card that Ronaldo was all right but we were giving a different story to the press to keep Manchester United's fans happy."
United boss Ferguson also insists he had no problem with Ronaldo playing for Portugal even though he picked up a knock against Blackburn last weekend.
"By the time I got back into the dressing room last week, Cristiano had gone to catch a plane," added Ferguson.
"I didn't know what condition he was in.
"Normally, when you get taken off with a knock like the one he had, you will give the boy a scan the following day to see if there is a problem. There was a bit of swelling but there was no way we could assess it.
"What we said was it would be up to the Portugal medical staff to do that. It was an important qualifying game for them and if Cristiano was fit, we were happy for him to play."

I think Scolari's comments were unnecessary, but so was Utd's suggestion that Ronaldo not play. I understand Utd's position, but each manager should mind his own squad.
