Indeed. Still a club of Arsenal's stature is expected to beat Charlton anyday.

    yeah of course

Unlike the match against Fulham, where I thought Fulham were the better team and deserved more, I will be really disappointed with a draw (or defeat) today, given our dominance of the match (especially in the 1st half)

Lampard should have scored. Couldn't quite get the deflection it needed.

Typical Chelsea, when you want them to win they can't be arsed.

Not the end of the World for Chelsea. Just into 2007 and 6 points behind. You still get to play the current top side at home and your two top players are due back in a few weeks.

    FULL-TIME: Aston Villa 0-0 Chelsea

    Oh my god.

    3 fantastic chances wasted.

Well, a great chance to reduce United's lead gone.

Hilario did not have to make one save tonight.

First time this season Chelsea have gone 90 minutes without scoring.

    Ratings:

Hilario 6 - Fuck all to do, but almost managed to mess up.
Ferreira 6 - Little to do.
Carvalho 7 - Little to do in defence, and brought the ball out well.
Boulahrouz 6 - Injured early on.
    A. Cole 5 - Should've been sent off.
    Makelele 7 - Played well.
Essien 7 - Played well both defensively and offensively.
Lampard 8 - Missed a great chance at the end, but one of his better performances.
Kalou 5 - Not his night.
    Wright-Phillips 4 - Another dreadful performance.
Drogba 7 - Tried hard, but missed 2 great chances.

    SUBS:

Geremi 6 - Little to do.
Shevchenko 6 - Worked hard, but offered no threat.
Mikel 5 - Did very little.

Yup! no deflection = no goal for Flumps. Biggrin

I'm glad Jose went back to playing Makélelé and Essien together in midfield. He should've never fucked with his winning combo putting Essien as right fullback. FFS Jose!

At least he's stopped the leaks for now. If only he'd give Bridge a chance so he can assist the forwards a little more. Biggrin <Ale>

Chelsea have to play Liverpool away on the 20th Jan, Liverpool are in good form now.

all Man Utd have to do is match Chelsea's results against Liverpool, Arsenal and other tough teams.

If Chelsea don't win against Wigan, Liverpool win away to Watford and then beat Chelsea they'll be 3 points behind at worst. They can easily finish second.

Indeed it is. They were the last team to beat us there though...

We'll be over taking them during Feburary. Giving us a good 3 months to hunt down the chokers.

John Terry and Petr Cech should be back though, as well as Arjen Robben, which will improve Chelsea by 5x in my opinion.

Absolutely ridiculous (and some of those were easy chances at this level)
