Salcido wants EPL move Empty Salcido wants EPL move

Post by Since 1888 Tue Jan 02, 2007 4:48 pm

PSV Eindhoven defender Carlos Salcido has admitted he hopes to be playing in the Premiership in the near future.

The 26-year-old is reportedly part-owned by Chelsea, with claims in his native Mexico that the Blues secured 20 percent of his rights and first option on his services due to their special relationship with PSV.

It is understood that the player has a clause in his contract allowing him to move to England, even though he still has two years remaining on his contract in Eindhoven.

"Luckily, all my goals in 2006 were fulfilled," he told Notiver.

"Now I have new goals and I hope to fulfil these in 2007.

"Now we are leaders, I have the chance to win a trophy with my team-mates here in Holland and then soon make the jump to the Premiership. That is my dream - that is my objective drawn up year-by-year and I hope to obtain it.

"I know the level of football that is developed there and because I am also conscious of the agreements that my team has with some clubs there.

"Also because I have always liked the highest standards there and I know that I could cope at that level with the best players in the world."

    _______

Could be the new Gallas of Chelsea. Versatile and extremly good.

They all said Kanu is the most disrespectful player in the world because he wants to move to Ajax instaid of playing for the big money at Pompey....

Will you still say the same if he loves to go to the club in the north of England with always high expectations but fail to impress in the EPL... Laughing

Seriously it is disrespectful to PSV as they took him over from South America. He only moved 6 months ago. Yikes

I have to admit he is ready for an EPL move! But he must go to one of the Big 4 then otherwise it is better to play another year for PSV Eindhoven in the CL....

You're right, i won't still be saying it, for 2 reasons...

    1) I don't really care and will have forgotten about it by tomorrow.
    2) It's PSV's problem, if he signed for us i'm not going to whinge about about PSV being mistreated, as i couldn't give a toss.

the fact is playing for any EPL side...even Watford or Charlton means he'd be facing decent opposition every week..

playing in Holland...he faces about 6-8 hard games through the whole season.

But from PSV you can easy go to bigger clubs all over the planet... If you play for Watford, West Ham or Charton it would be a lot more diffulcult to reach the real top! Your market value is to high and you wont be noticed by top clubs in Italy or Spain!!!!

So it would be still a bad move!

But surely the point is that he has reached the stage where he has to be at a big club. He's around his peak, playing in the Champions League, and played fantastically in the World Cup. He shouldn't have to play outside the top tier. Even if he won't be ignored if playing for a smaler EPL team there's no point in him going there in order to get noticed, so why on earth would he look beyond the big 4?

So two went to the absolute top... That's NOT MUCH..... You are pricing yourself out of the market if you are going to the mid or lower zone of a big league!

Salcido is a class defender but if you can buy for one third of the price another left back most clubs will always choose for that one...

what are you on about now? what the fuck is an ABSOLUTE top club...

Juventus are one of the 4 biggest in Italy....
    Lyon best in France...
Sevilla...one of the Spanish top 4
    Valencia........^^
Stuttgart are one of the big clubs in Germany

Perugia are the only exception and even then they finishd 5th and were in Europe

Like I said...I never said Salcido will move to a club outside the top 4...but I cant see why it would matter if he did as the premiership is watched worldwide...

Stutgart wont pay more money than Watford for a player...
Lyon wasn't the absolute top... Sevilla wasn't absol;ute top at the beginning of last year.... etc. etc.

Why you don't want to see that for a players career it is stupid to go to the midzone of a big league...

Midzone/lower zone teams are also not so happy a player is going to an EPL team if he plays already in the EPL...

How many foreigners went to the EPL top from a lower team...?

Scouts from big leagues mostly only go to the cheeper countries to rob some players instead of going to the overpriced big leagues....

I'd say it is easier to get spotted playing for a smaller club than a bigger club because you stick out more, you also play more.

A lot of foreigners who come over and go to other English teams establish themselves there and then the bigger EPL teams come in..which attracts interest from other clubs...

Last Year Lyon got to the CL QF's and won the french league..so one of the top 8 in Europe and the top in the country...

    Sevilla won the uefa cup....

I'm sorry mate I know it's not really a valid point but we played both Blackburn and Sheffield United of the park in pre-season.

And Warnock was saying that was there best game so far.

Didnt Feyenoord draw with Blackburn at home a 0-0 draw in a real match and definately Feynoord are better then Sparta, but this doesnt prove anything.
