There's no one remotely up to the job, although you have to blame Smith (and McCoist) for their rubbish sense of priorities. It's the same primitive, parochial club-over-country attitude as in England, except worse. (As someone pointed out, even in England there'd have been an outcry if the national coach jumped ship for a lucrative club contract.) An attitude that will ensure that such countries forever remain small at international level.

Deeply depressing, especially after such a promising start to the Euro 2008 qualifiers.

My comment was aimed at Chick Young's punditary comment from Lrd. I was implying that him being Scottish and have biased opinions because of this probably made his punditry worse

Yeah but either of the Old Firm managerships is a much bigger job than the national team, as evidenced by the salary paid.

Sven is still the highest paid manager in England isn't he? He'd have had to have taken a pay cut to move, probably.
