Sheva so far.
Rebrov got 11 goals in his first season in the EPL I think

Re: Shevchenko vs Rebrov
Rebrov picked the wrong club earlier in his carreer. By the way nearly everybody was flopping at Spuds in those days.
Sheva made 1 mistake: he went to the EPL. Rebrov made 2: EPL & Spuds.

Re: Shevchenko vs Rebrov
gotta be shevchenko for the money spent on him.
Give him till the end of the season though - for all we know Sheva could prove the deciding factor as Chelsea march through the CL knockout stages to win a glorious final with a Sheva hattrick.
well i dont know, but its perfectly possible
on the other hand he could be an unused subsititute in both of chelseas 1st knockout round matches as they go crashing out - massive scope for stuff to happen either way [/img]

Re: Shevchenko vs Rebrov
Hleb took a seaso to adapt to the English game - and look at how good he is now.
Give Sheva time.

Hleb wasn't exactly poor in his first season though

Re: Shevchenko vs Rebrov
Rebrov wasn't even $hit - and it pisses me off when he's branded a flop.
He was doing well under Graham and showing what us what we paid for, Then Hoddle got the hump with him, probably 'cos he insulted Eileen Drewery or summat.

He was nowhere near the level he's at currently though.
All foreign players need some time to adapt to the English game. And Shevchenko is so talented that it is only a matter of time before his qualities shine through.

Re: Shevchenko vs Rebrov
Rebrov was a good player....he was ruined by Glenn Hoddle...
he done well at West Ham..I still have a West Ham shirt with Rebrov 16 on the back...
before Sheva joined Milan...Rebrov was actually branded the better of the two

This is true. but i always saw potential in him. whearas Sheva does not look like he is ever going to give anything to Chelsea. I think what hleb said about sheva is true. he is too old. when your are late 20 early 30 it is so hard to adapt your game. i think he has been world class and still would be had he stayed with Milan

Only by people like Ron Atkinson who when asked who the key player is for a team they know nothing about would look down at a sheet with some stats on and name whichever player was the clubs top scorer at the time.
Rebrov was never going to be anywhere near as good as Sheva.
