Well, you can blame Mijatovic for Schuster not being Real Madrid coach at the moment. Calderon initially ran with Schuster as his choice for our coach but Mijatovic convinced Calderon to pick Capello instead. However, I don't know if Calderon would have won the election if he'd had Schuster as his coaching choice.

That being said, I'm glad we didn't get Schuster this season, even if I'm not happy with Capello. I think Schuster could be a good choice for the future after we win some titles, but right now we can't afford to take any chances. We need success immediately and I'm not sure if Schuster could get us out of the mess we're in.

On the other hand...Schuster's Levante from a few seasons ago absolutely fell apart in the second half of the season. Schuster certainly has enough personality for the job, I would be interested to see how he would do. But for now, I don't even want to think of yet another coaching change.

toon h's right about Schuster's Levante and their dropoff effect. I'm still waiting for it to kick in this year, or maybe he has rotated a bit more or has fitter players at Getafe. Anyway, his main flaw is that his style of coaching is high fitness at the start of the season, get as many points as possible, then just try and consolidate in the end of the season.

He's an impressive manager and speaks a lot of sense in his interviews, but I'm not quite convinced he can (in the long term) satisfy the requirement of good football at a big club like Madrid or Barca.
