I think Brasileiro world class central defender Alex will also go to Chelsea with Farfán. It was my hunch 3 three years ago that they were gonna end up in Chelsea together.
If Chelsea sign Farfán and Alex who leaves? Shevchenko and Terry?

They're both fantastic player but 'world class' is going way too far.
Alex needs to get a regualr run in the Brazil team first and Farfan needs to make a significant impact in the Champiosn League

Why would we get rid of a centre-back when that is now the area where we badly need players?

It was against Wycombe, but anyway for Chelsea's and Sheva's sake let's hope so.
Shevchenko is being played out of position, I doubt it but remain hopeful he can score some goals soon.

8 goals in 30 games now I believe. It's still a poor record (even though he has changed country, culture, language and team), but he doesn't deserve to be labelled 'biggest flop in British history' whilst Rooney is still 'yet to come good this season'
It's muscle. The guy is increbibly strong, bit like Kuyt (Farfan is far more skilled though).Obispo wrote:Been meaning to ask the Dutchies about Farfan actually - Has he bulked up alot or something, because I'm sure I've seen more than one of you compare him to Drogba but I always thought he was more of a second-striker type, can't say he looked very physical against us.
Surely Mourinho would just chuck him out on the wing

But they're closer to WC than many who've been declared WC already, without playing half as good and against less tough oposition than they have.

If Farfán were from Brasil , I don't want to think what his transfer fee would cost True, but no surprise there, as all Brazilians are born superiour footballers than the rest of mere mortals. Farfán has been more successful than Romario and Ronaldo (while at PSV), and his goal scoring/assist is at least comparable.
Touchy subject, I wouldn't go that far. Those are two of the best footballers ever, and both had their best periods (pre-injuries) in Holland. That doesn't necessarilly reflect bad on Farfan. Farfan is very good, top class player already, has developed at PSV while taking his time, made the right decisions to stay there instead of pissing off prematurely and as a result he is one top striker who could play at any club he'd want to, and not the other way around.
The kid has already come good, and is better than the majority of strikers at any club .
Koeman compared Farfán to Romario already. I KNOW Koeman knows his football very well.

Nope that's my judgement of Farfan, him being worldclass. I could be wrong. By the way a lot of the times people say it's impossible to judge players achievements in De Eredivisie. Nobody can be world class because Kezman failed in the EPL. Well personally I never thought Kezman was worldclass, he just was at the right time at PSV with the right players around him. With Van Basten, Gullit etc you could already see they were worldclass, before they had proven anything on international level. Same was with van Persie, van der Vaart and indeed FarfanDD wrote:Like the Henry WC? poll last week, I'd qualify both Farfan and alex as top class players, not WC.
