Platini is proposing to make football a non-contact sport awarding fouls for ANY sort of contact.

He suggested it, methinks .. there is two meetings with the IAFB every year to suggest changes, maybe Platini will bring it up (now he is a president of one of the Associations of FIFA) .. he may not win.

Remember, people say a lot of things in order to win a vote (and don't fulfill it) ...

At this moment in time, only the shoulder to shoulder is allowed before winning the ball. Platini's idea, is to make this a foul also. All contact, as now, after the ball has cleanly been won is to be permitted. So, if this poll is about Platini's plan, the better question would be do you think that the shoulder to shoulder should be made illegal.
But, for a message board that seem to pride itself on it's knowledge of football, I find it sad that so few people actually took the time to discover the real meaning behind the proposed changes, and just choose to critise them blindly.

If it is done correctly I am all for it.. It would mean the exit of the athletes and a renaissance for the technical players.. ok

But it is never going to happen..

Platini can't change fuck all even FIFA can't. Luckily the home-nations have some kind of comittee (don't know the name, something like Footy Rule Board), they're the guardians of footy & can veto any change.

I just want the athletes out.. I don't want to watch 22 superbly trained physical players running into eachother and occasionally hitting the ball..

Arsenal fans like contact, its not a club issue its a national thing i suspect.

I think shoulder barging is perfectly acceptable.

    @ oleguer

Dominance doesn't matter - Brazil don't get extra votes for being better at the sport.

And as I said in the other thread, its not our leagues fault that their more economically clued up than the rest of Europe

I am not talking about that.. It just annoys me that there is a block of votes in the system.

I am also for shoulder barging, but I just feel that there are too much destructive football today, which employs a lot of physical pressure, border line fouls, and tactical fouls.. and since it is legal, the refs can't prevent the teams from focusing on destroying rather than creating..
