Maybe there is a reason for it!

You ruled the UEFA now for more than a decade and it is time to give football back to Europe

Which really suckes since England, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland always vote as a block..
Which is a good idea when it comes to ridiculous changes.

A little bit of conservatism is not bad when it comes to football's rules.

That's utter bs. There was a rule it was known to everybody: the previous winner was not automatically qualified. This rule might be stupid, but England agreed to it too.

You complain about rules beforehand, not when they affect you.

    WRONG

Deportivo had to give up their place to Real Madrid. It was a decision by the Spanish FA in order to make sure that the holders were in the CL..

Because Liverpool didn't qualify.. the holders do not automatically qualify..

Which partly explains why the rest of Europe was pretty pissed off when FIFA bent the rules for Liverpool, just because the English FA didn't want to do what was neccessary.. either deny Liverpool or put Everton in the UEFA cup..

You're dead wrong. England had 4 spots. And had to decide themselves whether to give Everton's spot to Pool. This was the rule. England agreed to this rule.

Rules were bent in favor of Engalnd. They were not bent for Spain under the exact same circumstances.

No, Everton qualified for the qualifying stages which they then crashed out of... not the CL, therefore demonstrating what a bunch of pusillanimous twats the FA were in not making the same decision the Spanish FA had and giving the 4th spot to Liverpool instead of Everton.

It was a case of badly written rules, cowardice by both UEFA and the FA (each hoping the other would sort it out), and a business decision that the Cl woudl attract more sponsorship money if the previous year's champions were in it.
