Shakhtar Donetsk have confirmed that Julius Aghahowa is on his to Wigan.
As skysports.com exclusively revealed on Sunday, Wigan have agreed terms with the Ukrainian champions for Aghahowa.
"Aghahowa has been with us for almost seven years and it's time for him to move elsewhere," Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu confirmed.
"He wants to play in England and we decided to grant him his wish.
"He is in London right now to finalise his deal with Wigan."
The Latics have been locked in talks over the weekend and have agreed terms with the player - who is now waiting on a work-permit to seal a move.
The deal for Aghahowa would seemingly be the 'near' club record transfer which manager Paul Jewell revealed earlier this month.
