The Old Trafford clash, which sees Reading boss Steve Coppell returning to his former club, kicks off at 1715 GMT.
The BBC's first live match of the weekend will see Bolton or Arsenal host Blackburn at 1215 GMT on Saturday.
BBC One will then screen the game between Preston and Manchester City, which kicks off at 1310 GMT on Sunday
