and then sack del bosque in 6 months before bringing in moanrinho in the summer.

he may last about 9 months then sven will be brought in.

sven will be an instant failure and replaced in that summer by a random member of the coaching staff. he of course will last no longer than a few months and rikkard will then be hired. he is a shit manager however and with the added barca connection will be gone during that summer.

next benitez will be drafted in after leading liverpool to the premiership title........

and you live happily ever after.

If Ronaldo went in the summer I think it would be Lennon we'd target anyway. Although he doesn't offer nearly the goal threat that Ronnie does.

We could probably buy Hargreaves and Lennon out of the money from Ronaldo and still have a fair bit of change.

Still think he'll stay for 1 or 2 more seasons though.

before the season i would have agreed but now im done waiting. i thought cappello wouldnt make the baby mistakes that our last couple of coaches have made but he has turned out be just as bad as the ones before and even worse because he refuses to admit making mistakes and as long as the team fights in games he is convinced it means they deserve the game depsite not making any clear cut chances. cappello seemed to be the right type of coach at the time but its clear now that we got him at a time where he seems to be going down.

Agree actually. I think, despite signing a new deal, he'd move to United. There were reports last year that he missed Oop Norff anyways. I imagine Fergie would get more of a goalthreat out of him aswell.

Still think he'll stay for 1 or 2 more seasons though.

Disagree. You said yourself that if he doesn't leave this year you're going to get less and less for him. If he doesn't sign a new deal, then now is the best time to sell financially speaking.

He has till 2010 on his contract, I think we could sell in 2008 if he decides not to renew till 2012 and still get £30 million, considering his age and the amount of clubs who would want him.

I just think replacing Lennon with Ronaldo would mean a big shake up, as we would need more goals in other areas, maybe another striker could add them or even another midfielder to add to Carrick, Giggs and Scholes (something I'm not sure Hargreaves can provide).

Aye but if you sell in 2008 you're not going to have £35m+ bids I don't think. It's what's fucked up with contracts now. Real (or whoever) would probably put a decent, but not amazing bid on the table, well aware that if you don't sell him then you're going to have to reduce the asking price considerably in the next summer or risk him going for on a bosman at the end of that season.

On top of all of that... wouldn't Ronaldo be able to buy out his contract by 2008? He'll have been 3 years at the same club without signing a new deal by then, right? I don't understand these new things.

To be fair, if you did sell him this summer, you'd probably use part of that money for a Torres/Giggs replacement, aswell as Lennon. Then your original budget towards Hargreaves. So you'd probably get the newbies to spread the share of the goals between them, as opposed to one player doing it all.

I'm not saying wait till 2010 (when he'll be free), just till 2008 unless there's some ridiculous bid this summer of around £50 million.

That rule about buying out your contract is only if your over 28, why it applies to Lampard.

If we did get around the £50 million we could probably afford to buy Lennon, Hargreaves and still have money towards a striker and a Giggs replacement (the rest would come from money we have already).

Nah, it's not just over 28's. We've got Alonso coming up into a similar situation in the summer apparently. I'm not sure what the rule is, but if he's able to buy himself out - hence we're already discussing a new contract - then Ronaldo should be able to aswell. Neither are close to 28.

Tbh, no one is going to pay 50M. Barca cant simply afford it and i doubt we wouls spend 50M, and i hope we dont as we can buy 2-3 players which would be more value for money i suppose, but our bid has to tempt MU and 50M would do just that.

I can't see why Barca want him unless they plan to sell Ronaldinhio or Messi, in which case they would have the money.
