    El Clasico - 10 March 2007 Empty El Clasico - 10 March 2007

Post by fcb Wed Mar 07, 2007 10:05 pm

May as well start this thread since we're both out of Europe. So, what does everyone expect? I personally don't think it'll be as easy for us as everyone predicts, and if I had to put money on it, I'd actually say a draw. May sound shocking, but for some reason I'm just not confident about the game.

I'm not sure what formation we'll play or whether Etoo will start, but I just hope that Capello repeats his ridiculous formation from today of 3 defensive midfielders!

I wouldn't mind that, it was a good team. Not like Capello's likely to put out an 11 overflowing with wingers Razz

It really was, the defence played superbly, most of Liverpool's chances came from their good play rather than poor organisation or positioning like we did in the 1st leg. The midfield had an off night but showed what it can do against Zaragoza, and to a certain extent, Sevilla. Plus I do think he'll make one (kind of forced) change and start either Guddy or Saviola over Etoo, so the attack should be able to function better.

I'm not worried about lineups. The key is to have the intensity and work rate, and really get at Madrid and try to play the ball behind them and play at pace. Otherwise they'll be comfortable with a slow game.

Robinho has to play for you. Guti and Gago also. Even Cassano showed sparkles of his talent yesterday. To beat Barça at home, you need to put pressure on them, attack them.

But knowing Capello, he'll chicken out again, and play with three DMCs... Rolling Eyes

For a neutral fan, it would be great to see both teams trying to win. The first match a few months ago was actually quite entertaining.

it was good but the match in 2004 at home was the best i can remember since it was two teams attacking and scoring goals. i actuall think cappello will be convinced that guti and gago should play.robinho playing is more doubtfull since he doesnt trust him.

Ronaldinho is a big doubt for the game.

And apparently Capello will be fired, regardless of payout costs, if he loses this one. Even though I'd like him to stay as long as possible and keep wreaking havoc at Madrid, it would be an amazing feeling if we can be directly responsible for sacking a Madrid coach!

Though I'm still not confident Erm

Judging by the squads, looks like we'll play 3-4-3 again, because Zambrotta is suspended and Rijkaard left out Gio. Lucky Real to have Cannavaro out Sad

Is it just me or is the Clasico just not as hyped this time as it usually is? I guess the CL drama kind of overshadowed the buildup to it, and everyone seems to be expecting an easy win for Barcelona and that is dampening the competitiveness. I'm nervous though, for some reason I have this terrible feeling we'll end up with a draw.

"Ojalá ganemos 1-5 y conquistemos la Liga”

But he soon recovers to speak some sense:

    --------------------Casillas

    Salgado----S. Ramos----Helguera----Torres

    ---------------Diarra----F. Gago

    Raul----------------Guti---------------Robinho

    -----------------v. Nistelrooy

Still have nightmares from the last time this part of the defense lined up against Farsa.
