    Yikes Shocked

What the f*ck are they on? Rolling Eyes

Robbo - 6: OK didn't do much, but did nothing wrong

Neville - 7: Possibly, but was always there to help Gerrard, so maybe an 8.
    Cole - 7: Fair enough
Terry - 9: Bit too much imo, an 8 would've been better.
Rio - 8: Fair enough. Whilst I think Terry was better defensively, Rio helped the midfield out a lot.

    Hargreaves - 7: Shocked
    Downing - 8: Fair enough
Gerrard (STAR MAN) - 9: Shocked Shocked Shocked Yikes
Lampard - 7: Shocked I mean, if Gerrard gets a 9 ffs, Hargreaves, Lamps and Downing should all get 9s at least!!

Defoe - 7: Shocked (Same as Hargreaves, Neville and Lamps)
    Crouch - 8: Fair enough.

I mean, ffs, Gerrard was no where near STAR MAN (which they also gave him in a couple of games at the world cup), Hargreaves and Lamps 7 is imo, shocking and I think JT and Rio played just as well as each other, so I think JT should be an 8.

When will the Sun realise Gerrard is not the star man for every game?! Rolling Eyes

Maybe, but it always seems like they want to give all the credit to Gerrard.

I mean, I know we shouldn't take their views seriously, but I do sometimes wonder who writes the stuff (Hargreaves, Lamps - 7)

Imo, if Gerrard deserves a 9, I think Hargreaves deserves 10 and Lamps 9.

I reckon he probably has a flick through from time to time.

Id be interested to see Mclaren's ratings Question

The Sun does try and manipulate to a certain extent but it also tries to gauge what the average 'yout' that it plays to will think of the match. And they are actually VERY VERY good at it.

Unfortunately a large proportion of such a demographic are the sorts of people who like to associate themselves with football in order to belong but barely pay any attention to the games and thus after a gmae like last night will come out singing Terry's praises and most probably declaring him man of the match( to be fair he played well but showed how he can be a liabilty in the first half when getting turnd only for Hargeaves to bail him out)

    @ dogma

Though the ratings are aimed at the average pleb, I still think that deep down, the Sun journalists think they got the ratings spot n Wink

The people you speak of are everywhere! They are in effect the mass football fan - and a lot of them are season ticket holders.

I go to games and most people that shout out stuff shout complete crap! I sometimes want the turn around and hit them, they've got it so badly wrong.

Example: Spurs V Charlton last season - gave Bent stick the whole game (GOD knows why) - me and my mate were two rows in front turning red in the face

For the clever people in the room I meant: Lets quote some other ratings so we can discuss them.

Fucking hell I ask someone to quote how some other papers have rated the game and I get some snarky responses saying "go find it yourself".

    scratch

FYI I did not quote from TheTimes.co.uk as they seem to have left hargreaves rating off so I was wondering if someone had bought the paper itself...

    Oh! Nevermind...

Well here's the thread from the posters ratings and in them there is a link to the Guardian ratings.

Sorry, I thought you wanted someone to go and find you the ratings from the times.
