Newcastle could have been a great squad! If they play every game like they played in the first game against AZ they still would be still fighting for a CL spot in the EPL.

Yeah, still three weeks to go. Hopefully that will be enough, otherwise we will need a lot of Bayerndusel...

P.S.: I'm happy that we'll have to play away first. Usually, that's an advantage.

UEFA Cup- Spurs Installed As Second Favourites

    Hugh Larkin

    16/03/2007.

Just eight teams are left in the UEFA Cup and they are a pretty high quality bunch for what is seen as Europe's second tier competition. It is a compliment to Spurs recent form that they are second favourites*.

Both Werder Bremen and Seville are tustling for the title in their respective Leagues and should be playing Champions League football next season. AZ Alkmaar are second in the Dutch Eredivisie, though that doesn't guarantee Champions League soccer without a play off.

Benfica are also in the hunt for a title in Portugal but the other two Spanish sides- Osasuna and Espanol- are mid table in La Liga. Bayer Leverkusen are 6th in the Bundesliga.

Spurs would like to avoid Bremen and Seville in the draw. It is not a cliche to say that there are literally no easy ties left but one of the other Spanish teams would suit.

Mention must be made of AZ's price. Most firms have them as the outsiders but at around 20/1 Europe's top scorers may be worth a small punt.

    Werder Bremen 5/2
    Spurs 7/2
    Seville 11/2
    Osasuna/Leverkusen 10/1
    Benfica/Espanol 12/1
    AZ Alkmaar 20/1

    Prices from Bet 365

*Note that the draw has caused a major shift in the market- Spurs have moved out to the third favourite with most firms and the 20/1 on AZ is no longer available.

Obviously pre-draw. Interested in the new ones.

Teams from England. spain and the other bigger leagues always get more bets put on them at the bookies due to punters knowing these leagues better. So bookies adjust their prices to suit.

Doesnt mean Benfica have less than half trhe chance that Spurs have- you should put a wager on, its the beauty of putting on a punt to beat the bookies

Whats strange is that before Spurs drew Sevilla, they has the 2nd best odds and Sevilla had the third best and now that they've drawn each other their odds have swapped over scratch

Anyway, I'm off to the toilet before I shit myself

Obviously a tough draw - with Kanouté coming back. Do Sevilla have the squad to stay on top of their game in both competitions?

With Berbatov in our side, anything is possible right now. COYS.

Spurs vs Sevilla will be superb.

Probably looking forward to that more than Liverpool vs PSV and Chelsea vs Valencia.

AZ-Bremen will give Spurs-Sevilla a run for their money. Especially in terms of atractive football.
